I am very rarely a commenter, but I read Gawker for the comments at least as much for the articles. The staff authors merely provide fodder for the actualy writers, the folks down below the main text. Just my opinion. Not trying to start shit with you.

One of the main reasons for the establishment of inexpensive daycare in Quebec was to level the playing field between men and women and also to make it a financially viable option for a woman to work since all of her salary doesn’t go to childcare.

I think affordable daycare is even more important than paid maternity leave (which is still very important). A few months (or even a year) without your wage is often nothing compared to paying for childcare for the next several.

The parents may not have know the girl was awake. I’ve gone into my daughter’s room to wake her up in the morning only to find her dressed and playing in the living room. I wouldn’t put a baby gate to keep her in her room, especially once you start potty training and you want them to be able to get up and go at night…

It could have been something from her dressing up box. In the space of an hour, my daughter will be Elsa, Cinderella, Spiderman, a fairy, an Angel, Sully from Monsters Inc, a Spanish Dancer or Pirate Princess. All with bear ears.
