Commenting on this thread so I remember to check later on whether they actually elaborate on the offensive stereotype or if they just threw a grenade in the comments and ran

The term indie is fuzzy but as far as “could they even be nominated,” yes, they have been. I’m pretty sure Celeste (2018), Hades (2020), and Stray (2022) qualify by most people’s definitions of indie, and all of them were nominated for Game of the Year. Winning might still be a long shot, but I don’t think it’s

I’m sorry that happened - I didn’t pick up on anything like that in my playthrough, which is making me wonder if I missed it, or if it’s just not something I’m sensitive to as an Indian male?

There is an indie game nominated for game of the year. You even mentioned it by name. And it happens to be one that blew everyone away

Baldur's Gate 3 is an indie game.

What cultural stereotype is that?

To quote the guy from the other thread: “Starfield wasn’t snubbed. It simply wasn’t deserving.”

True, Cloud also gets impaled by a sword in the original game, he’s just much better at not dying about it.

doesnt someone get stabbed in the flashback at the Mako reactor too? could be that.

My personal theory is the “Big surprise” is either going to be Zack shows up to save Aerith at the last second and he gets killed by Sephiroth or it’s going to end on a massive cliffhanger with Cloud getting impaled instead with an immediate cut to credits.

Johnny is 100% my guess. No one else is going to use the word “bodacious

Could always be Johnny.

I feel like Yuffie or Hojo are definitely the most likely candidates, though I have to admit that it would be amazing if it were Red XIII saying it gravely serious.

seems the most likely to say they have a bodacious beach bod?

yuffie: unironically (no one was looking at her)
aerith: flirtily (as a maybe-joke)
cait sith: as a joke
cloud: as a joke in an affectless monotone after someone (i.e. aerith or tifa) sees his chiseled chest
barret: i think its possible but only if he thinks that its hip to say with the kids. he embarrasses the rest of

FF9? Oh, the one with the incredibly boring battle system that takes ten years for anything to happen in, has a cliche story that only changes things up at the very end when you fight the god of Death for no reason at all as a last boss? The one with MULTIPLE party members who have a backstory about as deep as a

Proof that people who don’t like FF8 just didn’t pay attention, there are magazines in the game that tell you EXACTLY what you need to upgrade your weapons, and the game is designed for you to get the items you need at a measured pace throughout the game (unless you specifically break it to skip to the last weapon on

FFVIII has been my favorite for a very long time. But I have seen someone go through a playthrough for their first time recently, and there’s a lot of issues with the story in the end... But it oozes charm. I love the art direction, some of its characters, its music... It’s great!

But with that knowledge, and having

FFVIII is the best, hands down!

You know as well as I that people will hang you for this but I actually agree. I love VIII.
