“It’s sort of a nostalgia killer”
Good, nostalgia is fucking toxic.

I don’t see anything about “pumping a money printer” in the ending.
I DO think I see you being angry that the party basically killed you in effigy as the final boss.
25+ maybe if you’re following a step by step guide the whole way and skipping cutscenes and sidequests.
My clear was at like 55 hrs.
I think the nostalgic fans being symbolically defeated by the party in the first title is really all the meta-narrative we need on that topic.
Going forward, I’m hopeful that the characters and players will have more say on the story - like. Maybe instead of Aerith guaranteed dying - depending on player actions -…
Kitase a producer on this game has been writing Final Fantasy games since 1991 including as a Director and Scenario Writer on FFVII
Nojima Writer on original FFVII is also the main writer for remake.
Trying to pin everything you don’t like on Nomura is stupid.
Yeah, I think both are possibilities.
I’m hoping we possibly see her at the golden saucer.
I think this ending adds MORE meaning to the title, rather than taking away from it.
It’s also really hilarious that the vast majority of comments negative about the ending are from people who were never going to play it in the first place.
She may have survived, too. Her gloves and bandanna are on his dresser in that shot.
helmed by the people behind Kingdom Hearts and FF13.
Final Fantasy VII Remake’s ending suggests that the story belongs to someone else, to a group that’s been altogether ignored within this discussion: the characters. In pushing back and eventually fighting the Whispers and Arbiters of Fate, Cloud and the party create an altered version of the events fans knew. Zack…
He’s doing a Patreon thing and some kind of crazy truck game.
He’s been recovering from Covid, though.
YOu can follow his twitter to stay up on him.
What happened was a bunch of Herbs showed up and started fucking with all the former Gizmodo blogs.
Oh, in that case “They don’t do so well this time” is because there are ghosts railroading them into following the story - then the end boss is a battle against those ghosts.
I played the game and this is one of the few times that I’m thankful something wasn’t spoiled for me before I got there.
I’m so excited for future titles because of this.
I see no indication from the game that Sephiroth is going to join the party. (They don’t do so well this time) No, they do great - they destroy the…
he’s not on this site anymore. Won’t belong before this site is deader than deadspin
I didn’t have to pointlessly go grind shit to complete the game. Every new bit inserted into the story more fully fleshed out characters like Hojo or the Avalanche team.
Unless you’re talking about the side-quests, which I thought were nice setting building (and optional) I don’t know what you’re calling padding.
Can you point me to some reading about that? It sounds super interesting.
Quick question? Do I still have to grind for rare drops and then hope those drops grow into the right items in order to progress my character classes?
The dig at FFVII is really unnecessary. I wouldn’t call the more in-depth storytelling “Filler” or “Padding”
They’re mad about how little their white privilege is buying them. They think it should be getting them more. That’s what they’re out demanding. That we give them things for being white.
what the shit is this?
