In further “I was very wrong in 2018" news it seems the show has entirely skipped the alien archaeology of the second book. Boo.
The baked-in assumption about pop music that the credit belongs to the performer is so weird. In reality, most pop artists are creatively identical to cover bands. Which can be fun! But.
There was maybe a wider palette of tones, but there were definitely some perennial targets back in the pre-*Disqus* era. And for example, O’Neal’s newswires were certainly not known for taking prisoners.
Finally watched the last episode of the first season; entirely stuck the landing. Really excited we’ll be getting more of this, particularly Lake Bell’s Poison Ivy (now Martyred Ivy?) and Ron Funches’ King Shark; undeniably top-tier comedic voicework.

Other than the Bond film thanks to the pedigree of the talent behind the scenes (I still rewatch that True Detective raid-goes-wrong sequence often, that was better than any action movie that came out that year), not a single one of the big-budget franchise movies interests me at all.
