Still not convinced that Freeform is a real TV channel.
The transition from 19xx to 2000 and up was the real headfuck, though.
Look, you think G/O Media is willing to pay for, or give enough turnaround time for, editors?
I have a huge soft spot for the Scarlet Spider, although I’d have a hard time entirely defending that rationally.
It sounds like the plan is for it to be the change that sets other changes in motion, branching off an eventually very different timeline where presumably we get a lot further in space exploration than we have in the real world.
Look, if Apple is determined to blow money on a new space show by RDM, I’m not gonna try and stop them.
I can’t possibly imagine what else you could be referencing. Certainly nothing applicable to this site or its ownership comes to mind!
A lot of it is these big multinational corporations are making huge gambles, and to convince themselves that there’s actually some order to it and that it can all just be mapped out on a spreadsheet, rather than scryed ambiguously through the vagaries of art, they stick to “sure bets”, which in part requires known…
If this is sticking to sports . . . keep it up :D
Eh, Batman's pretty reactionary, really.
Feels like we’re hurdling towards an adaptation black hole. We’ll cross some event horizon after which it will no longer be possible to create any mass-market entertainment that is not based on some pre-existing work, be it a franchise or reboot or based on a novel or whatnot.
Hell, Titans handled that kind of scenario better! When you’re less nuanced or understanding of the unreality of humans engaging in violence without grave risks and costs to themselves psychologically and physically than the “Fuck Batman” show, you’ve really done something fundamentally wrong.
Better not break Gregg. Not that he’s that sympathetic of a character anymore necessarily (he's joined the ranks of literally-every-cast-member as a terrible human being, albeit less so than most of them), but his naive (if these days coke-addled) energy would be a shame to lose.
I was gonna say that that depends on whether or not The Good Place sticks its ianding, but on the other hand a campaign schedule doesn't leave much time for TV so if she starts now maybe we'll get an interview in February where she's all "...and it turns out they're in the bad place!"
The only one I can think of that did is Continuum, and frankly I feel like it benefitted greatly from it. Looked way better than anything else filmed in Vancouver but pretending to be Seattle or Portland or such, and I feel like a lot of that was that they could just film on the streets without set dressing the hell…
“Time flies when you have access to the Speed Force, which must explain how The Flash is already kicking off its sixth(!) season on the CW.”
Kindof in awe of the sheer number of shows The CW has out there now, they just keep multiplying.
So much of The Animated Series is more nuanced that most cartoons or comic books or the current crop of superhero movies are willing to bother with being.
There’s yet to be a better one, really. It takes decades of mythology and distills it down to almost actually-mythological tales, with a visual aesthetic of gothic-yet-art-deco which really sells the spin on New York that Batman has for Gotham (inhuman and relics of a golden era long gone, as opposed to the futuristic…
