Seriously. This is exactly the reason I appreciate these articles so much. I have the same propensity to collect project cars and then move on to something else after tearing into it for six months. Then about a year after selling the project I start to think it is a good idea to get another one and start hounding…

My first thought as well. I hate evidence free speculation like this, it reeks of politics. 

Interesting. Utah was one of the first states to do an 80 mph limit and the data showed almost none of what this study found. Marginal changes in speeding or injuries and people, for the most part, still just drive 80.

They were a BIG splash. People say “yeah you coulda had an Audi” but honestly, how many Audi dealerships could be found in Ankeny Iowa in 1999? Distribution matters. 

Yeah but by the late 80s sales were falling fast. Basically GM killed Oldsmobile when they ended the Rwd platforms and made every division use the same GM corporate engines. It's what also killed Pontiac but much more slowly.  

The Alero is durable and much more comfortable than the caviler it's based off, the minivan I won't defend, the Aurora is just great (highly biased here) and the Bravada was the best equipped on that platform except maybe the Saab.
