I am not either, but to speculate as laymen:
Fire exhaust happens when you’re running so rich that you have unburnt fuel running out of the exhaust ports. I think most of us are used to seeing high-strung cars burp flame on the downshift as the fuel ratio is momentarily super rich. To do this, during what seems to be…
In a site full of bad articles, this is the worst I’ve read all day. At least the copy editing wasn’t as bad as most GMG articles.

As an American, with bad teeth, who likes to visit London:
Historically there was a difference in oral care, I *think* WWII both highlighted this (American GIs noticing their British counterparts teeth, and vice versa) and went a long way to fix it. Lots of standard-of-living stuff was improved on both sides of the…
Subaru also gave us the dog family, so... even on balance I’d say.
“failing to bring in little more than half its budget”
came here to say this!
I love the microsecond reaction she has to Nate missing his note here (around 1:15) ... dude cannot keep up with her. Not many humans could.
“Jaguar researching a possible return to WEC”
No. “Let’s purposely make less visibility on one side” doesn’t pass the sniff test. It’s automotive retcon. You’re grasping while deifying the autobahn.
E38 ... I get weird looks from non-car people. “...the BMW 7 series, like the cool one.” No one gets it. Except this guy.
This is why I come to Jalopnik. Thank you.
CSB: I visited the factory in Hethel in 2011-ish. It was a small group (and an amazingly small factory.) They did an around the room “where are you from, why are you here.” Two or three guys from England, one couple from Germany, and me and my not-yet wife.
All were there because “I’ve got an Elise at home” or “I’ve…
Do it.

Last new car was late 2014 buying a ‘15 TDI Golf. Found the one we wanted via vw.com, got an offer via email from the dealer (near sticker, but under $20k so...) brought our own financing. We did let the dealer try to beat our BYO (credit union) financing, which was a mistake in hindsight (they didn’t, it just wasted…
Would you rather Jalopnik just avoid posting stories about extreme luxury cars? Or do you want serious hard facts reporting on this? ‘Cause honestly FK is the best way to address some of the silly stuff that goes on in the luxury market but is still interesting to the Jalopetariat.
Beat me to it. This makes tons of sense. Air/fuel is no worry, and it’s a well defined and relatively short course and duration so the vagaries of battery power are not nearly as vague as other racing.
Panther platform to ‘91 were the last US cars with carbs. But “most” (an anecdotal term to be sure) panthers and foxes were injected by ‘85.
Grand Wagoneers kept carbs ‘till they died in ‘91, and I’m sure there were trucks that held out a good while after that.
