Been too long since I’ve seen a Stef article that wasn’t pro racing related. Good stuff, more please.
Not that the other stuff isn’t well written, I just have no interest in most pro series. Lemons and SCCA is still kinda interesting, but this here is what I come to Jalop to read.

CSB: My dad’s first name is Tyrone, mine is Byron. We’re both pale white Irish/German dudes. In the 70's my mom called the YMCA where my dad was playing basketball (lol pre cellphone) and asked to speak to Tyrone. Front desk person just walked up to the only black guy playing and told him he had a call.
For me, I went

No complaint with the settlement, even though we’ve averaged 31k miles per year. Just want them to get out of “reviewing documents” on the damn website. How long does it take to scan a registration and drivers license and go “yep, that’s a VW and that’s the owner.” It’s been two weeks now!

“Hackers, What DO They Want?”
The niceties, Patrick. The fine points: diplomacy, compassion, standards, manners, tradition... that’s what they’re reaching toward. Oh, they may stumble along the way, but civilization, yes. The Geneva Convention, chamber music, Susan Sontag. Everything your society has worked so hard to

I have never been happier with a car purchase. I can honestly say the positive reviews here helped influence my decision. I was cross shopping Challenger, and also used SLs and C6s. C6 was definitely more sporty, but was way too tight for my frame (6'2" and fat.) The redline interior compared well with the older SLs,

Compared to the FT1 this is bland. Safe. Generic. Everything we expect from Toyota (and BMW) in 2016. So I believe it.

Lens analogy: It’s amusing that he can’t just say “we’re trying to figure out how to monetize the usage of our products.” Whether that’s because it will scare their traditional investors (“OMG they’re just gonna abandon making cars and run an Uber!”) or because it will scare buyers (“OMG they won’t let me own my car

‘15 Mustang convertible. A little over the initial budget (but not much) and less maintenance the first few years. The entertainment system won’t age well, but I think the look of it will. He’s got a lot of years left, start newer.

I wish I had 1/10th the charm of Craig Ferguson.

Never understood why they let Stewart back in a race car after killing a guy. Not saying he intended to injure him, but you can’t say his anger issues didn’t contribute to the incident.

Ignorant, trolling, or both. Mass market cars are *always* a generic summation of their times, sure. But there were classics to be found at all ends of the MSRP spectrum. Personal favorites are the ‘84/’85 RX-7, the 300Z mentioned below, both MkI and MkII MR2s (defining shapes for both the 80's and 90's respectively)

Rhetorical questions are actually aided by the lack of punctuation. The question mark would formalize the comment and make it easier to misunderstand the meaning.
The internet needs a special punctuation character for sarcasm, I think. Just like we made the “@” a thing 25 years ago... maybe “^”?

Freddy, you seem to imply that a company couldn’t keep a Ferrari in a rental fleet in good shape for $600/day. I think it would be interesting to break that down (by, say, using Gotham’s fee and some info on their cost to keep their cars.)
Not a bad article, just incomplete and one sided.

Solder iron can also fry a circuit if you leave it on for too long (not that I’ve ever done that, of course.)

This comment here is *exactly* why football has a limited future.

Theory: Elizabeth Banks is slowly transforming herself into Parker Posey so that one day she can off her and assume her identity.

From the still I saw the boy on the left and legitimately thought “Oh, when was Sarah Vowell on The Tonight Show?”

Well done. I like the long form, well written and edited pieces. More of this please, but only if you can find suitable subjects.

the small version of that gif seems dirty... like someone’s getting a very tentative handjob.
