I tend to think an enhanced ability to communicate with your constituents where they are is a legitimate expense, especially for $80 a year. Members of Congress already have the “franking” privilege, which allows them to send official mail at the government’s cost. I don’t think this is much different.

I think there is a very real risk that he releases partial information or something out of context that makes some item of evidence look weak, or even like it is defending his position. Then if that gets picked up by the national press, everybody knows about it, including potential jurors, and they will already have…
