I agree that he blew his second chance, and I’ve got no problem if he does hard time, now. I was just disagreeing with your first comment that his original “defense was B.S.” when to me it sounds like it was pretty accurate.

As I said to deerlady83, I definitely think it’s true and problematic (god, I hate that word) that he received different treatment than a poor and/or black person would have received. But, I actually wish that kids of all backgrounds were given second chances if they’ve been failed by their parents.

See, I’m a little torn.

But doesn’t the fact that Mom fled with her kid to protect him from the law support the judge’s assertion that the kid was never taught about consequences?
