Former nanny here: For date nights I never had an expectation for getting paid more than the agreed upon amount. If the parents were running late sometimes I’d get the time I worked plus something else and I really appreciated that, as an acknowledgement that I was basically a captive worker until the family got back…

Primarily because it’s harder to find vegan cold-weather gear, which means fewer options and fewer sales. Visiting somewhere as cold as Antarctica would mean looking for specialty gear, too - try finding a vegan boot suitable for the Arctic - it’s difficult, and not cheap.
