There’s a few people in my wider circle of friends who voted for Trump knowing my brother is undocumented (DACA) and who still thought it was right to vote him even though they knew my brother’s future would be in serious jeopardy.

I’m a legal immigrant and I don’t find the idea of offering a path to legal citizenship for people who were brought here illegally while underage offensive at all or a “slap in the face” as you put it. If someone has a clean record, wants to contribute to the country, and become a legal citizen, all the better. But…
