I read this in Politico “This isn’t the first time a D.C. visit by Erdogan sparked violence. This (or at least intimidation, and pushing/shoving) has happened before by Erdogan’s goons. The DC police have little time for the ridiculous and unnecessary threats and violence, but I assume the guards have diplomatic immunity, so there’s little the police can actually do except try to separate the groups.

I saw this comment on a similar article elsewhere and I love it so much that I want to share:
