Huge Fosse and Verdon fan here. For the uninitiated (or those who want a reminder), his unique greatness is best seen in these two clips.

I just joined Tinder last night after years. Anyone want to give me feedback on my attempt at a bio? Just assume my photos are fire (if no body shots because that makes me uncomfortable is fire.) PS - Straight female, 36, looking for men 30-50.

One time on a location-based profile all I put in my bio was:

Should we all workshop each other’s profiles here?

Here’s mine (40yo for reference):

I just saw this one on a guy’s profile: “I was fat as a kid, so I have lower standards than usual.”

I’ve honestly had more luck just writing absolutely ridiculous shit as my bio. For awhile it was “Just looking for a someone who will support my extreme drug habit and drive me around so I can find my car from last weekend.”

“Dumb stoner w/central AC. Not a Nazi.”

Someone needs to scrape through the extant profiles and build a neural net to generate Tinder profiles. (Oops. Never mind. Looks like Tinder don’t like that.)

I like it.

Our scene begins amid the bustling outdoor tables of a Parisian café. Our characters, M. France le premier et M.

First of all. Anything Lanthimos does I will watch a minimum of 6 times. I can not WAIT for this.

The judge’s decision is a powerful mark against the familiar idea that, as Seltzer wrote, ‘important, authoritative female novelists ultimately owe their brilliance to men.’”

Wow, thank you, that was fascinating!

If you want to go older: Pillow Talk with Doris Day & Rock Hudson is adorable and also is one of those rare films I’d want to see remade. Instead of a party line, they could have similar e-mail addresses at a huge company.

While You Were Sleeping is one of my absolute favorites. Notting Hill is also adorable.

Listen, I don’t like ICE any more than the rest of you. But to label them a terrorist organization does nothing but numb the public to that term. If we start calling every group we don’t like a terrorist organization, then the real terrorists will be forgotten.

My reading’s taken a real hit with a new job, but I am going through The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemisin. She is such a great writer and the world she’s building with this trilogy-people who can willing/unwillingly create earthquakes, and the oppressive structure they inhabit-is incredible.
