before i realized she’d just lost her dad i thought she looked like she was about to burst into tears, not at all throwing shade at SNL or Kate. losing a beloved parent is the worst, no matter how old you are when it happens.

i read the wikipedia plot summaries and while it’s not always to be trusted i can’t imagine they were that inaccurate. i’ll watch a few eps ondemand and see if it’s as silly as the summaries made it seem.

is it supremely well acted, and quite different from the books? i’ve read summaries of the books and it sounds all harlequin romance-y and like the sci-fi/fantasy aspect is sort of tacked on to straddle extra genres.
