I love when my husband walks both of our tiny, tiny pups. He gets more male attention than I do when I walk them :) Chihuahua and pomeranian, for the record. Both rescued and more high-maintenance than the both of us combined...we are very wrapped around their paws.

I melt over pitbulls (that could be said of me when it comes to almost all dogs, but the pitbulls really have my heart). It might be because they are so unfairly mischaracterized. My pit was the biggest lapdog in the world and loved everyone.

Eeeeee! It's so damn cute! And you are right, those ears are the tops!

Right there with you. I should be drafting a motion, reading a bunch of medical records, responding to to a variety of emails, but I just can't. I will be watching the second run of the new episode of True Blood in just a minute.

Oh my god, that video! What a sweet dog, and what a sweet family.

I have been on the pill for years. It started for skin issues, then for actual birth control. A decade later, I have no idea what my natural libido is. I looked into an IUD, but because of a number of other expenses right now, and the fact that my insurance doesn't cover it, it's not an option right now. I also

It's going to be okay. I have had a number of friends who had unplanned/unwanted pregnancies and they found out early enough to go the medication route. From what I have heard, that is within the first 9 weeks, but I second the advice of the others who say go to PP or your doctor right away, find out all your

*Backs away with hands in the air* I'm only repeating what I was told by the barista at the Australian-run coffee shop in London! :) Either way, I thank whoever came up with it because it's hands-down my favorite caffeinated beverage.

I lurve me some Stumptown. I lived in Portland for years and was going through withdrawals when we moved to Philly. I am definitely grateful for the Ace Hotel NYC location. I should probably try some of the local NYC places, but I am always just so happy to get my Stumptown when we get up there.

I really like Mary-Kate's shade of brown hair, it makes her skin glowy. And I like both the Olsens' outfits, really. Zoe Saldana looks fierce, as usual. She just knows how to carry herself.

That all sounds amazing - except for the mushrooms because I have a life-long aversion to them. I did a kale/collards saute tonight with salmon/dill burgers that I bought from Whole Foods. It was tasty, but yours still sounds better. I just love soba noodles.

Good to know. We're looking at Spain or Italy, so Southwest is out anyway. I appreciate you sharing your travel wisdom!

Many thanks for the recommendation.

Got it. Thanks for the advice, I haven't planned enough trips myself to be sure of these things.

I'm sure they are totally fine. It will have been some freak cellphone issue, or they will have been having too much fun and have forgotten to call, or wouldn't think you'd be worried if they didn't call. They will show up on time tomorrow and you will have a great visit!

I need some travel site recommendations from the hive. What are the sites you hit up for the best for airfares? Or, are there good sites for predictors for the best time to buy tickets to a particular destination?

Today I finished "Anansi Boys" by Neil Gaiman. I first read "Good Omens", which he wrote with Terry Pratchett, then moved on to "American Gods". I love his writing and his creation of gods and folklore. I don't know enough above mythology to know how much he is drawing on real myths to supplement what he creates,

Some days you just need that. I sat through a Downton Abbey marathon today, and I am not ashamed.

I go back to work tomorrow after a week off. I'm just not ready. It took me until yesterday to even leave my work anxiety behind and relax. I hate that my work expects that I will still be attached to my blackberry and laptop even while on vacation. I was jumpy every time the blackberry buzzed with an email. A

Yeah it was. Damn. They were one good-looking couple, too.
