Do-si-dos are peanut butter cookies, I don’t know why the Girl Scout website mentions oatmeal at all, they don’t taste ANYTHING like oatmeal.

Hm . . . what you say makes sense. Suddenly I am glad that I am a cold-hearted, paranoid bitch.

I have never in my life had a vegan version of anything that tasted good. Fake cookies? Bad! Fake meat? Bad! Fake eggs? Bad!

yeah, how about “veggie dog” or whatever. It’s clearly a veggie version of a hot dog, but not one and not misleading.

Almond milk is so messed up. So many vegans and vegetarians go on about how good their diet is for their environment, bragging and moralizing about it, but so much of what they eat is BAD for the environment. If you do just a little research about almond milk, you discover what the almond growers are doing to places

But they don’t. They put the veggie or tofu part in tiny print. Personally I think they want to trick people into buying their stuff, hoping they’ll try it rather than just throwing it away after they realize.

I am for this because it is irritating as hell to have to dig through 5 kinds of hot dogs (that say veggie or tofu in teeny tiny print you have to search for) to find the real kind. Same thing with cheese, etc.

Not true. Ethically it is only opinion. It is definitely not a fact that a meat-free diet is healthier. And environmentally traditional (NOT factory) farming techniques are better.

That tweet with the noodles makes me think he is a moralistic twee hipster d*uche, so, yeah, I am on Tokyo Joe’s side about this. Why do we have to deliberately misinterpret things? Joe’s clearly wasn’t making fun of addicts, and people use it that way all the time. And how about instead of raising hell about a sign,

Um, no. I can throw stones at my own glass house AND at other people’s. I am a great multi-tasker. ; )

It’s not about the amount. It’s about how tipsy or drunk the person in question gets. Depending on weight and height just one drink of wine will put some women over the legal limit. Two drinks of wine could easily put some one over it.

I agree. It seems completely normal now in our culture to get drunk every time you drink. I see it in news and magazine articles, in tv shows and movies, and anyone who expresses the suggestion that maybe it isn’t a good idea to get drunk is made out to be a total hateful stiff, a fun-killer, a judgmental asshole.

A huge part of it is privilege. You have to pay membership fees to be in a frat, and those aren’t cheap. So only kids with wealthy parents can afford to join, so pretty much only white people.

Ha, when I was growing up 10% was the standard. It was in etiquette books, advice columns, etc. Now you are cheap if you don’t pay double that! No thanks, I tip 10%. As the costs of doing business have gone up, the price of food, the percentage based tip covers that. Anyone who argues that “inflation” means you need

Did she get anything wrong?

Eh, I wouldn’t say anything about it unless my order is messed up. And every time my waiter hasn’t written our orders, it has been wrong.

Yeah, I’m with you. This expectation of telling people you don’t want to see them again after one date is weird to me, and really new, just in the past year or two. If you don’t want to see someone again after 1 date, you don’t need to do anything, just don’t return their texts or calls. After 3 dates, you should say

It’s not 100% absolutely effective. I mean, there are people out there who smoke a pack a day and live to be 100 and never get cancer. The exception to the rule doesn’t make it invalid. Also the thin people you know who drink diet all the time probably eat healthily the rest of the time, or have way faster

They were lying from the start. They never intended to do a second shoot, but to convince her to sign the contract giving up her rights. They have been selling (and making a profit on) her first shoot over and over and over again. Every time they a company uses her image they make money off of it, and they have never

Not just kids! There are lots of pen pal programs for adults too. My favorite is the Letter Writer’s Association program, which matches you up according to interests you list. I’ve made some great friends this way.
