Agreed! When I see an ad for “Widget for women”, I tend to see red & look for just Widget, b/c you know that shit ain’t pink & pricey.

The Real World was one of the first few shows I watched when I first came to the US. It was a great glimpse into the lives of others. All this other shit after? I’ll just head to the movies, thanks.

This. THIS. THIS. They give the same weight to www.sandysmomantivaxxcoconutwatercuresall.aol.blogspot.com as they do to www.mayoclinic.com. This things do not carry the same weight, people.

Seriously, this is kind of amazing. And thank the maker it didn’t take her kids getting anything worse! She could have lost her whole family, this is basically the best possible way the anti vax story can end, and it still involves dangerously sick children.

Yeah, I always wonder if it will take something like an outbreak of polio to finally straighten out all these anti-vaxxers.

That’s the thing most anti-vaxxers miss.. they don’t equate the lack of prevalence of a disease to be attributed to vaccinations, they ONLY see the “VAX BAD” “research”. There is a complete disconnect between the two concepts.

but we don’t need to critically think, as long as we can fill in a bubble on a standardized test!

Also, dismissing experts in the field and instead going with non-experts who validate your personal beliefs.

I’m just glad she learned this lesson for a disease like rotavirus instead of something more dangerous or more likely to have long term effects!

It’s not only that, it’s that people don’t know how to critically evaluate the sources that they find. They think everything on the internet is true and if someone wrote something, it must be correct. Look at the damn source and THINK about it.

Likely it didn’t happen because her parents were smart enough to vaccinate her.

“I scoured everything I could possibly find about why vaccines might be harmful. I became pretty convinced.”

I’m amazed a teacher went all that time without catching and spreading something worse to her family. Schools are a Petri dish of disease. I guess that’s just proof that herd immunity does work.

Well it’s a shame it took her whole family getting sick but it’s refreshing to hear an anti-vaxxer say “I was wrong, I was batshit, I’ve since researched and have changed my mind”.

I honestly can’t keep them straight anymore. What’s another shooting at this point? Part of me just doesn’t want to be in public places anymore. What the actual fuck?

I can’t fathom how anyone can possibly be undecided in this election.

The thing to remember about Republicans saying they’re going to vote for Trump even though they’re smart enough to know he’d be a disaster for everyone including their party is you can *say* you’re voting for whoever you want. Only you know where you actually put that X when you’re in the voting booth.
