Everyone is speculating that Scarlet means that monogamy is specifically hard for her but... What if her exes were the cheaters? If you have a couple cheaters in your past, intellectualizing it as “Well, I guess monogamy is really hard” or, in the old version “(insert gender here) cheat” is pretty common.
This is why we need to reform our immigration system to make it easier for people to get in legally. Until we do, people will keep getting stuck in this double-bind.
