Might depend on location. I used to live near a college campus, and I saw (and heard) a lot of students watching TV shows and movies on their smart phones and tablets without headphones while eating alone at fast casual restaurants.

I haven’t seen it on a plane, but I’ve seen it in many public places like doctor’s office waiting rooms and restaurants in the past few years. Sometimes, it’s a parent letting their tween kid watch a TV show or movie, but it’s often young adults (i.e., Millennials and Gen Zs) who can’t be bothered to put on headphones.

This is a great idea. I had an allergic reaction to my Halloween makeup when I was in 8th grade. I then had an allergic reaction to the eye drops my doctor prescribed for the initial reaction. I looked like I had pink eye for about two weeks.

I have very picky feet and chronic Achilles’ tendonitis. I’ve found that hiking shoes are the best for me when I’m walking a lot on vacation, regardless of whether it’s on a natural hiking path or urban sidewalks. For my last trip, I went to a local shoe shop that specializes in comfort shoes (Karavel Shoes in Austin,

I second Wrightsocks Coolmesh II socks. I used to get blisters on day one of vacations, but I’ve been pretty much blister-free so using Wrightsocks.

I agree about the Simply Food products. I know it’s odd, but I really like their Colin the Caterpillar cola-flavored gummies. I usually bring back at least a half dozen bags with me.

I’ve had problems with bra shopping, as well. I’m around a 42D, and most stores don’t carry bras that fit. Even bras that are technically my size from places like Lane Bryant don’t work because their molded cups aren’t the same shape as my breasts.

I have a Martha Stewart dutch oven I bought on sale at Macy’s over 10 years ago, and it’s fantastic.

I took MIT’s Introduction to Biology via edX several years ago, and it was amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about molecular biology and genomics, even if it’s been years since you’ve taken a hard science. It looks like the last session started in July, but they seem to offer it once

Within the past couple of years, I’ve realized that it’s all about the bed and pillow combination. At home, I have a traditional pillow-top mattress and use a contoured memory foam pillow with a cool gel layer I bought at Costco. However, when I stay with friends or family who have memory foam or super firm mattresses,

I realize that I probably missed the window to like it because I never read the book or saw a movie adaption when I was a tween/teenager, but I was just never interested. I watched the BBC version with Maya Hawke last year, and it was fine, but I found it overly sentimental, saccharine and preachy.

The great Blue Bell Listeria Debacle made me realize how much better HEB’s Creamy Creations, Central Market Small Batch and Swoon ice creams are. I haven’t bought any Blue Bell since.

What? Who thinks it’s a good idea to take a mirror selfie in a public bathroom? That’s just weird.

Ugh. I was in London during the Royal Chelsea Flower Show, and I kept coming across all these young women who probably consider themselves to be social media “influencers” treating the decorated store fronts in Chelsea as their private photo studios. They were pushy and annoying, completely unaware that they were

Seconded! It’s really hard to find plus-size activewear. Even the companies that do sell it (like Columbia) rarely stock it in the store. It’s like they’re afraid having fat people in the store will scare off everyone else.

One of my friends pointed out that he looks like the sons on the WB’s Jack and Bobby (actually kind of looks like both of them). Fused with Rory Gilmore, he’s the WB come to life.

I’m totally with you on this (especially the JC > JT bit), but the song was part of the Drumline soundtrack, so of course it featured a marching band drumline.

Because Baylor is a Baptist university in a bible belt town full of ultra-conservative Republicans.

I know you’re probably talking about Texas AG Ken Paxton, but the smiling guy in the green tie is US Rep Bill Flores. His district includes Waco and College Station. He also has a teeny tiny slice of Austin, which is sadly the bit I live in. He’s a complete and utter jerk who refuses to have town hall meetings. He

I read a biography about Victoria and Albert (We Two by Gillian Gill), and it discusses the issue of Albert’s sex education being all about marrying and procreating as much as possible. Because he was the second son and wouldn’t have much if he didn’t marry up, he was raised to believe that his place in life was to
