This was never going to be repealed. At best there was going to be some mealy rewording to adjust just the bathroom access parts or language of the bill. It was originally passed because the state did not want any of the cities in NC to be able to enact, pass, whatever, laws* of any true meaning. It was passed to make

I suspect that that’s what this entire thing is about, secretly. At least for the GOP. They get to make a big fuss over repealing the anti-LGBT rights part while keeping the minimum wage provision intact, with nary a peep from anyone. That’s my tinfoil hat theory, anyway.

Nonsense. Beautiful beaches, beautiful mountains, the BBQ is the shit, and most of the people are extremely friendly. Their are large liberal enclaves, too, if that’s what’s important to you. Raleigh, Charlotte, Asheville, the whole Outer Banks...all great places.

Wasn’t there language in there about keeping NC minimum wage tied to federal, as well? Thought I heard that.

Why does it matter that he lost? They just stripped the incoming gov all his powers and they have all the districts gerrymandered so the far right legislatures with their supermajority will be just fine.

Don’t they realize that McCrory lost because the governor election was basically a vote on this bill? I mean, people in this state hated McCrory so much they actually split their ticket to vote for Trump and against him.

Basically you have the progressive and economically successful Triangle (Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham) and Charlotte area fighting against the rest of the shit hole. So the General Assembly has to gerrymander the fuck out of the state to keep power in the Assembly. And McCrory is a fucking dipshit fuckboy loser.
