@Lord_Data ∞: I'm happy to pay with ads instead of money. I prefer them to be on the side rather than a pop-up or fullscreen.

@3picide: I mainly agree, but I had a lot of issues with Abiword. It could have been my fault, but I'd rather not use it again.

@battra92: You could still hang out at college. My group of friends has people even in their 30's that have been out of school for years hanging out (and mainly, playing RPGs).

@JCulp: I can, but then again, I've been working on campus all summer.

@battra92: I strongly disagree. My first reason is that my handwriting is illegible. Why even take notes if you can't read them later? Second, if my laptop is out, I'll take notes and maybe play some solitaire. This distracts me just enough for me to pay attention. If I don't have that distraction, I stare into

@recruitmethods: $150? My campus bookstore sells it to us for a couple dollars! I agree with your general point, though.

@rorywohl: Sounds nice. If they add a One Note lookalike, I'll be using it next time I get a new OS (which is more often that you'd think. I get bored or get new computers).

@x68507: I think my college actually does have a course in this, though it doesn't count for anything.

@jsngabriel: While I am suggesting that people use MS, your problems were because you saved stuff in the wrong format. It's compatible if you save in the right formats (.doc, etc.)

@LaneLester: One Note. Open Office doesn't have it. It's why I switched back.

@dlaciv12: But what do you use instead of One Note? I agree that first is not best, but there ARE reasons (like One Note) to use it. Where we are talking about college, I assume that other bookstores have deals like mine that it's only a couple dollars. Also, if you do want an office job, they often expect you to

I agree that Open Office and Google Docs are generally fine, but what about Microsoft One Note? I have not yet found a program that does the same things, and I use that for my note taking. Plus, it's only a couple dollars at my school bookstore.

@shazaam42: Some commenters above said it works fine on W7x64 for them... what version do you have?

@contrabassist: and that doesn't slow you down a lot? I tried going back and forth a bit and found that I typed WAY slower in both when I did so. I grew up with qwerty and have been using dvork less than a year, but going back is just not an option for me.

@Jason Fitzpatrick: That's a really awesome idea! I will do it. Then all I have to do is set everything to dvorak :P My friend that needs help a lot already has it set up so I can fix it faster.

@shazaam42: That's really odd that it doesn't work on 64 bit ones. I use it on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and it works quite well!

@neoliminal: Very true! I already feel like that, though. I use dvorak and have totally lost qwerty.

I'm using phrase express to do this. It's pretty nice :) I have it expand my name and usernames automatically as well as fixing some typos and expanding some abbreviations.

@Xander: Yeah, it didn't work :( It's okay, though. After a bit of work, all is well. I ended up getting more extensions, too, so I'm up to 41 again.
