You know, even though it’s not my thing, I honestly don’t mind the original version of Cats. Mainly because TS Elliot, who was a notorious anti-semite and monarchist who had his first wife committed to a mental institution against her will, would fucking hate it.

I’m like ready for a future cyber punk Game of Thrones, some little blondie overthrowing robots with her dragon, it’s been medieval for legit 1000's of years.

I guess it really does depend on precisely what kind of relationship you have with the person. It’s probably hard to not at least be friendly with someone you have to spend a lot of time with, even if it is only because you depend on them for a service.

and I’d show up to something expecting a group and just find just that guy, wanting to give me a back rub

Yeah that was my first thought. Plus his father died when he was 13ish so maybe it would have been difficult to watch him in anything, much less a show where he has a lot of sex scenes.

I agree. I don’t mind a prequel set in the same universe utilizing peripheral or net new characters. But something with a foregone conclusion better be doing something really interesting/special to pique my interest.

It would be something if anybody from any of the sites would even *acknowledge* the issues. You can email or tweet or whatever but not one editor or contributor will respond.

You could easily vaccinate my dog all day long if you distract him with cheese. Could this apply to republicans as well? Has anyone tried this?

“Sadly, this case underscores the importance of raising public awareness about the risk of rabies exposure in the United States,” said Lake County Health Department Executive Director Mark Pfister in a statement.

So we’ve gone from Kinja not showing us links to where folks replied to Kinja not notifying us when we get our precious stars? Jesus Christ.

The paperweight Infinity Stones are from timelines that don’t exist anymore, so maybe that’s why they don’t work. Ultron isn’t destroying timelines or universes, he’s just fumigating them.

Witch Week is fantastic and has a really intriguing ending. Jones is the best.

Holy shit *yes.* I love all of her books, but the Chrestomanci chronicles are special.

It’s not like Diana Wynne Jones languished in obscurity (one of her books became a Studio Ghibli movie!!!) but I wish more people would read Witch Week: for me, always and forever the best YA book about a magical boarding school.

As someone who’s read The Magicians a few times, agreed - I would classify it as a bildungsroman, with the caveat that the main character is totally a manchild. (What sold me on it was the beginning where he’s like, “but is this magical Harvard or nah?” Love the sendup of elitists haha.)

That make lot of sense — me always had sense that past Tony mythologized was just as shitty as Tony’s present, but it all seem bigger and more important because it his father’s world. But that let-down not really make for compelling movie.

It’s nice to know high school educated millionaires do their scientific research from the toilet just like my Facebook aunts.

Oh, go easy on her, she still needs time to do her own research.  /s

I kind of agree. The onus was on both of them not to start a friendly relationship. Yes, he’s the one bound by the code of ethics, but it’s also just bad business to mix friendship with services you pay for and pretty much everyone over the age of 18 should know that by now. That he caught feelings was not the issue

Same. Living in the start of an apocalypse currently makes me less likely to watch fictionalized versions of it.
