I don’t understand how that story works for two whole days of disappearance. I think someone was just trying to deflect blame with “I was so drunk”.

I’m curious how they arrived at that number - it seems exceptionally steep, but I totally get why they want to make examples of some folks and restore their rep. Agree, though - don’t know why Donny isn’t a defendant yet. Maybe his statements weren’t specific enough about their company? He’s pretty weaselly.
The pre-k crowd in our house really likes Nailed It (or as they call it, “Silly Cakes”). I even think it conveys a good lesson, because my older daughter has an OCD/perfectionist streak, and I think it’s valuable for her to see people enjoy doing something even if they’re not very good at it.
A lot of my friends growing up ended up being teachers, and the one who was the most enthusiastic about it, who’d always wanted to play school with her little sister and never wanted to be anything but a teacher; she’s the one who burned out entirely. Teaching is hard, and it really chews some people up. The last year…
It’s all about the biscuits - my family can go through a ton of those biscuits. When my sister got diagnosed with celiac, not being able to eat cheddar bay biscuits anymore was a real blow, but now Red Lobster makes a pretty decent gluten free mix. Yay!
My only question is, doesn’t Bernie own any hats? Someone from Vermont should know to keep his head warm!
I think their focus was less on Merry and Pippin per se, and more on Dominic Monaghan. There were Aragorn and Legolas contingents as well, but the biggest fan base was for him.
I do think that a lot of the side characters get really well developed, relative to their screen time, but Frodo and Aragorn never really entirely gel - we see them do a lot of stuff, and they get a ton of screen time, but who they are exactly (especially Aragorn) isn’t always as clear, and I don’t get as attached.
My housemates were big Merry and Pippin fans, so we watched the extended cuts and special features from The Two Towers the most. It’s very easy to get sucked into a rewatch of these movies, though, which is a bit surprising given what a committment it is.
Yeah, Leslie Ann Warren just gets on my nerves, because her demeanor is so wide eyed and insipid.
My daughter didn’t believe me that there were boys who did ballet (she was 4), and my rebuttal was showing her a clip of Rudolf Nureyev dancing with a giant pig. Sadly, she’s currently not that into the muppets, in spite of a concerted effort on my part (I’ll get her hooked eventually).
I can mostly give the Leslie Ann Warren episode a miss
I don’t know which one I’d bump, but I was just about to mention this same episode.
There were (at some point, not sure how much they cost now) dvds of a lot of the storyteller segments, including Dog City, but I definitely miss Jim Henson Hour. I remember liking it, anyways, although it’s been a while.
The “family sing-along” videos that Disney did early in quarantine are very popular with my kids, and the second one opens with a take on the Muppets theme, complete with Kermit arms, so that’s entered into our family lexicon (I tried, but they weren’t going for the muppet show dvds last time I tried - maybe we’ll…
Does Disney have rights to Jim Henson Hour and Storyteller? I’d love to have access to those again. But, definitely second the vote for Muppets Tonight.
Yeah, I was a kid watching Muppets Tonight, and the bits I enjoyed were things like the cooking show titled “Hey What Smells......So Good? It’s cooking with Seymore and Pepe!” But, I really liked that show.
Eh, they can get a cookie, just not more than that. (Raisin, though, not chocolate chip) Their 190-some odd colleagues who couldn’t even manage to vote for impeachment are the ones who’re totally cookie-less.
Yeah, I’m going to have to find that tiny violin to play for them. Their Democrat colleagues have been being threatened for years, journalists get threatened, heck, even execs at places that cracked down on Trump’s social media presence have gotten threats. I guess it’s refreshing that they’re being so up front about…
That was a little distracting, but she’s far from the only person who’s ditched the whole bra thing this far into lockdown, I guess
