I have not looked at the internet for the past 24 hours or so. I’m sitting in an ICU watching my mother slip away, breath by breath. We are essentially on death watch. So finally, I pull out my laptop in a futile effort to distract myself and this is the first thing I see. GODDAMMIT ALL TO HELL, WORLD. I am so sick

I just feel actively bad all the time

Their editorial is great. They’re moving to a 4x yearly/quarterly print subscription model though and investing more in digital. The new print editions though are gonna look sick - great art direction, slightly different size, very Paper Magazine Jr, which is a compliment.

This! I’m seriously thinking of buying a subscription just to support their good work.

Damn. Color me impressed.

But nepotism mostly benifits white dudes and then white women, the rest aren’t even close.

Case in point:

Teen Vogue has been killing it with the hard news around this election, frankly. I almost want to get a subscription just to encourage them.

Great post. It’s saddening that more people don’t seem to care about this.

In case anyone out there was confused about how the voting/enfranchisement system was rigged, here it is. Jill Stein filed for a recount. She paid the required fees. And now, suddenly, she is not “aggrieved” enough to demand a recount. Any registered voter should be entitled to demand a recount if they can pay the

I want to start a group that endlessly tweets at Chuck Todd and others for being a disgrace to journalism. Not one day go by where is not reminded of the cowardice that he and other supposed ‘standard bearers’ have displaced for far too long.

I love that she’s aggressively challenging him on his bullshit. Chuck Todd could learn a thing or two from from her. We are going to need much more of this type of journalism in the next four years.

(BTW, tomorrow is is the 36th anniversary of John being shot dead.)

I believe that love IS the answer ... but not the kind of passive, feel-good, saccharine platitudes and symbolic kind deeds that Van Jones seems to be talking about. The kind of love that we need is challenging and revolutionary and ACTIVE, and it isn’t the same thing as simple niceness.

I see no reason to give shitstains like this the benefit of the doubt. They had a chance. And they voted for Trump. That was their chance and they fucked it up.

No, it’s a rebuke to having the adults in charge. It’s a rebuke to civility in politics (although the Tea Party taking over the Republican Party was pretty much the beginning of the end of that). It’s a rebuke to anyone who isn’t a rich, white, straight, Christian male who dared to think they deserve basic civil and

He’s not been named “Best Person We Love The Most of Everyone Of The Year” - he only got the cover because he’s a black hole of need and the chaos he causes means we all can’t stop talking about him. Everyone needs to check their outrage. Frankly, he should be embarrassed to be singled out

White supremacy has been normal since the founding of this country. Time didn’t do anything to normalize it.

And yet he’ll interpret it as an honor. He won’t put himself in the same category with Hitler and Stalin where he belongs. He’ll think it means he’s the pope. Unfortunately.

I say that these laws don’t go far enough.
