+1 Malkovich

Yup. Just ask (the ghost of) Craig Sager.

I read this as Dennis Leary in Demolition Man.

I’m sorry for sullying the purity of your comment section. Can Univision ever forgive me?

Parker Posey is fabulous.  That is all.

Dogs are great, for so many reasons

What could June actually do in Canada that Luke isn’t already doing? Nothing. She has no idea where Hannah is being kept, and would lose her ability to find out more once out of Gilead.

You can lose a finger for reading, so yes, Hannah would be in constant danger. Children mess up and make bad decisions. The scenes in Canada made it clear they aren’t just going to attack Gilead. Between Serena and then all the Marthas who helped her, June realized she is not alone and she has a real chance of getting

Of course Hannah would be in danger! Commander Waterford dangles Hannah over June’s head on more than one occasion. This is a man who had his own wife’s finger cut off; a man who was willing  to let a baby die rather than bring in a female doctor because it violated the arbitrary laws of Gilead. “I really thought Drummer was going to sacrifice herself and I literally jumped off my couch when the elevator took out Diogo.”

I see him really as more of an immature jackass over his head.

“So, the protomolecule was never intended as a weapon; it was just a machine that built roads, albeit one that didn’t give a flying fuck about the species it hurt along the way.”

It’s essentially a Vogon Construction Fleet.

THIS SHOW IS SOOO GOOD.

Holy shit! That was a fantastic way to end the season (series on SyFy, at least). Yeah, there was a substantial chunk of the book missing, but I understand why they did it.

As a book reader, fuck if that wasn’t borderline perfect. Abaddon’s Gate is one of my favorite books of the past couple of decades, and while slicing out a ridiculous chunk of the meat, I can still barely comprehend how the hell The Expanse’s team got the message through as thoroughly as they managed to. Hopeful SF

All I have to say is: God bless Amazon for saving The Expanse.

Easily the best show on TV and the most frustrating to get friends who don’t normally watch sci-fi to actually give a chance to (see also, Battlestar Galactica).

Whenever I read the name Shelley Miscavige, I imagine her looking like Shelley Duvall.
