Keep the theme song or GTFO
Keep the theme song or GTFO
“Were” means “man”, as in “werewolf” = “man-wolf”.
Wha? Finn’s story picks up directly from the end of TFA. His establishing motivation is his obsession with rescuing Rey over the needs of the Resistance, a character arc that was set up in TFA and is developed, subverted, tested, and ultimately paid off in TLJ when he finally fully commits to the Resistance after…
People neurotically obsessed with spoilers and the fetishization of the viewing experience have become far more obnoxious than spoilers themselves.
If only the internet was around circa Highlander 2 . . .
Moore made made it iconic and enduring. He gave it depth and made it great. The original was campy, simple, and derivative. Perfect for me as a 10 year old, but in retrospect not even in the same league as the reboot.
I don’t think either you or Kripke completely correct or wrong. Identification is an essential element of any superhero story because wish fulfillment is usually a major point of this type of fantasy. But movies(and comics) like the Dark Knight do favor saviors over systems or communities to render justice. No matter…
Thanks, but I think I’ll save a few bucks and just re-read my copy of Kingdom Come.
Downtown Disney is open. There is a long line to get in. Disney is trying to expand it. I have family that works in Huntington Beach as a school administrator. HB is old school skin head territory. They are still just as disrespectful and racist as when they where young. They just have high priced attorney to hide…
Dude, tell me about it. I currently live in Costa Mesa, but I’m from Huntington Beach and I’m just disgusted by how pathetic the people in my hometown are. Anti-mask protests, hardcore Trumpers trying to fight protestors, it’s terrible.
I don’t want Disney opening and Newsom is right to keep it closed.
I’m sorry I was an asshole I realize that and will change.
“I’m not excusing Ellen’s behaviour...”
Proceeds to excuse Ellen’s behaviour.
People work service jobs 40+ hours a week to make ends meet. This includes dealing with hundreds of people per DAY. These people (including myself) STILL are capable of being personable to those they don’t know and those they work with.
Ellen…
Really? REALLY?
Your average Taco Bell worker in a metropolitan area deals with more people on a daily basis than Ellen does in a fucking month, and we expect them to be kind and courteous for 0.02% of what she makes in a goddamn year.
There is ZERO excuse for her to be rude or short or cold toward anyone she works…
No shit right? Ask a hotel receptionist if theyre allowed to treat people like shit. They deal with hundreds of guests per day. Ellen just has to shoot the shit with celebrities or genuinely interesting people. What a terrible gig! Where do I sign up??
Bullshit. Millions of people deal with more stressful jobs every day that matter a hell of a lot more than her and pay a hell of a lot less. No one says she needs to do it with a smile on her face but she sure as shit needs to treat people with respect.
I understand your reasoning, but I disagree. It affects her more than zero. If enough of her projects fail, she eventually becomes irrelevant. The thing about celebrities using their status as a platform is that we provided that platform. We can at least try to take away her megaphone.
THE Karate Kid is about Keisuki Miyagi, an immigrant who fought against his own people in World War II while his wife lost a child in an internment camp. Noriyuki Morita was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance. Ralph Machio showed up.
Stop trying to remake good movies. If you have to remake something pick a big name flop and try to make it amazing. You still get all the name recognition and, if you pull it off, you’re going to be remembered for a long time.
The good thing about this being a movie and not the comics, is that the comics do not stop existing, while at the same time not mattering at all when it comes to what new people want to do with the property.
Not to be picky, but she’s married to William H. Macy, not Willem Dafoe.
