I’m late to the game. Anyway, the Knights Of Ren.

Please see my reply to johnseavy. I think you’re overlooking Poe’s behavior and fixating on Holdo’s inappropriately. Poe’s refusal to follow GENERAL Leia’s orders—he literally turned her off so he wouldnt hear her...umm—led directly to the unnecessary loss of pilots, fighters, and bombers. And you’re saying he prevente…
He already committed a gross dereliction of duty by ignoring Leia’s orders earlier and arguing with her about it afterwards. Then his first interaction with Holdo is to mansplain their situation to his superior officer and demand she tell him—a recently demoted captain—her plans because...he’s Poe? Leia already…
True. You’re right. That whole Maz interaction was problematic to me.
Awesome. She’s the best and deserves all the love and she gets from this experience. Her presence in this story meant so much to me, my little boys, and many others. I just hope she never overhears some of the sexist, racist, and sizeist shit—in some cases all of the above!—I’ve come across when folks are “discussing”…
100% agree. It’s one thing to have actors snuck in movies because they’re geeky fans who were likely influenced by the films to move into their careers / would love to be in a SW film, but fucking monarchs? Retch.
Oh shit, for a second I thought I missed punk Rick in Star Wars, but then I realized... Bummer.
Except it’s Star Wars and there’s the whole omnipresent and omniprescient Force thing that’s always trying to balance things and influence galactic events by surrounding and binding all things. It’s never been said outright, but it’s heavily implied that all “luck” and “serendipity” is just the Force doing its thing…
I’m all for cinematic universes when they make sense, but this doesn’t. I’d be all about a G.I. Joe franchise. And I’d DEFINITELY watch a proper Micronauts film franchise. But a shared universe? Nah. It’s overkill.
After my first viewing, my issue with Holdo was that she didn’t just say, “Here’s our plan. We’re heading out to an old hidden Rebellion base. It requires that we pretend to be fleeing on the big old cruiser for a while. So chill, Poe,” which would have been more pragmatic. My guiding thought at the time was that…
This. All of this exactly. And if some fans can’t go along for the ride, then they’ve got things they need to work through.
I am an average “nerd” who has steered away from athletics and physical activity my whole life, and have always been intrigued by parkour, martial arts, and skating more than most sports. Parkour has been especially captivating. I’ve always thought, “These are real life superheroes.” This video perfectly captured that…
I confess. I bought a poncho because of Star Wars. And, dammit, it looks good.
Because comics legend Bill Sienkiewicz illustrates a remarkably punchable face...
I watched it. I loved it. No one else I knew did. But hot damn, that was a fun ride with those characters.
Hell yes. Now that’d be a coup for Amazon.
Daaayaaaammm. That’s a huge time commitment. Massive props.
LOVE these books. You can preorder the Art Of and Visual Dictionary books for the films from Amazon for just around $30 together...so about 2 viewings of the movie or a movie with popcorn, soda and candy. And they usually show up on the day the movie’s released! I watched the movie last night and am fawning over these…
Really loving the Hawk costume. Dove’s is mostly cool, but something feels just a little off about the scale and position of her glasses on her head. But still, these are probably the coolest looking costumes I’ve seen on a superhero tv show next to The Flash’s. I wish the Black Lightning costume was this cool.
