There are plenty of good RSS readers (unfortunately less so for Windows as most of the ones available are hideous) but what is missing is a backend for syncing. I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to build a Dropbox based syncing system that all devices reading RSS readers read and write so articles always stay in

It's still very ugly as a watch. Oversized and the leather band doesn't even match the watch's colors well. The sideview also looks seriously bulky.

I don't see any real problem with the phone. It doesn't have an absurdly big display and has quite reasonable specs. In fact I would buy that instead of the huge phones Samsung cranks out. I don't need a phone that has 8 cores or 1080p display as neither makes anything I do on my phone better.

I don't mind unintrusive advertising at all. Even less I mind advertising that is relevant to the page's content. But Facebook's "suggested stories" advertising is really annoying, especially on mobile devices because it causes extra scrolling and masquerades as content. It's deceiving.

It's a terrible concept. Like most of these "no bezel" things, the designer doesn't understand real world usability. For it to work, the device would have to detect when you are holding a finger on top of the edge and that is no small feat. Likewise a clickable bottom would be equally terrible as there is no

That is honest indeed. I mean they could still be excellent phones for all we know.

I truly hope they heavily push this update to all Win7 PCs. IE9, while much better than its predecessors, still doesn't support many technologies that have been available on other browsers for years. Lots of small things like the File API (which should be in IE10).

Bandwidth would be the new distribution cost. That said, I would be fine if the prices were the same as physical media at some stores. For example I looked into buying Crysis 3 recently and it was around 40 euros on Zavvi, The Hut etc. But on EA's awful Origin it was something like 55. That is a lot more for something

In reality the main difference between the receivers here are user interface and number of inputs/outputs. Soundwise I don't think they make much of a difference meaning that they are all at a good level.

4k@60 fps would require HDMI 2.0, which might just about make it into the device if it's slated for release late this year or early next year. HDMI 1.4 can only do 4k@30fps.

So how about those trailers that pretty much show the whole movie? Like the Gangster Squad, Cloud Atlas, that new Statham flick...I hate the stupid people who make trailers like that. A trailer is supposed to make you interested, not show everything the movie has to offer.

There is still nothing particularly wrong with the way iOS works on a phone. It's easy to use and doesn't get in the way much. People being bored with a design is a terrible reason to change it. There are lots of things under the hood that could be improved (some taken care of with jailbreak) though.

StrokeIt has to be one of my favorites. While many browsers and programs have their own extensions for mouse gestures, Stroke It does that all as a system-wide tool and in my experience much better than any browser extension.

What most likely will happen is that drivers will just crash into something as they try to figure out what Christmas lights are doing on your back.

I have to wonder if the term "designer" is accurate here. I mean how many designers do you need to design a watch? One with a vision or maybe 100 heads banging their collective crappiness together until they come up with something good. Or maybe that 100 includes all the engineers etc who figure out how to cram an ARM

I was also a Opera user back when it was in versions 6-9 I think. Then I moved to Chrome and Firefox because they were simply more user friendly. Opera still has fucked up downloading, archaic control panels and lots of poorly executed additional features (RSS reader, mail client).

Chrome for regular use, Firefox for development simply because I prefer Firebug to Chrome/Webkit developer tools.

Agreed. I'd rather spend a few hours setting up all the programs so I know they're clean rather than hauling around all the crap that was in the machine before.

It still amazes me how a company selling luxury goods can't hire designers who could make them at least look elegant.

Indeed. To be honest I'm wondering if the deals companies strike for exclusive rights are that lucrative compared to just licensing their stuff to every streaming company that comes along. Then people would just flock to the one that is the nicest to use or has the best image quality.
