I've been messing with the 3rd gen and 2nd gen iPads here at work and while I like the 3rd gen, the iPad 2 is just a much better weight. Both are too large IMO - not really comfortable to hold with one hand. So the iPad Mini would be a much better fit for me as long as it has something resembling a retina screen,

Seems like a good deal, if it comes with the hardware scaler that the older 27 and 30 inch Dells have. It makes a big difference in image quality when used at lower resolutions. Where GPU scaling was blurry, the hardware scaler on my Dell 3008WFP had much sharper picture quality, to the point that I don't mind playing

Win+P (multiple monitor options) is probably my favorite. It was highly useful when I was still using multiple monitors and wanted to play a game using my secondary monitor (HDTV). Pretty much all games default to the primary monitor, so to get them to the second one you can use Win+P to set the secondary monitor as

Somewhat pointless IMO. Apple devices inform you about low battery way before it is actually depleted. I think I got about a week of use from a trackpad that said low battery.

The Core Audio system is nicer than ASIO for recording. Just less hassle, not much latency benefit.

If the manufacturer has a forum, read it. You will find all the stuff that reviews and specs don't tell you.

Hated this one. Most of the characters are whiny assholes and the "this is obviously a camera" shots for every scene is just to mask that the plot is shit.

While the panels may come from the same sources, that's where the similarities end.

Logitech M500 at the moment.

"Look at Microsoft and Windows 8, with its split screen design: Users can assign a quarter of the screen to another app. It's a brilliant way to implement full screen apps—which I still think are the perfect way to interact with devices nowadays"

That doesn't help one bit. The port can be vertical, horizontal, upside down, downside up. Adding a small symbol to determine the side doesn't help because often you insert the connector without looking at the port or seeing it because your hand is in the way.

I think the headphone socket moving to the bottom is a more interesting development. It makes sense to me to have all the ports on the same end. It also makes it easier to handle the phone when you have it in your pocket with headphones connected. As it is, you have to have it upside down with headphones connected,

Interesting. Now, if they only could have a sensible preview for message threads (similar to Gmail where you can see parts of the previous messages so it's easy to find a specific one)...

The primary problem was that for a long time Nokia's software was shit. Symbian was a nightmare for developers and Maemo was full of idiotic usability flaws. That combined with the very lackluster hardware (ever tried the N900 phone? it has a terrible resistive touchscreen and even comes with a stylus because it's

My beef is generally the way apps or even operating systems try to cram in the social network crap any way they can. For example I would like Sparrow better if it didn't try to use Facebook to get people's photos connected to email accounts. I almost never email any of my friends - I can just message them on Facebook

Higher resolution without a change in display size means more pixels for everything on the screen. This can be used for two things:

Purely for modeling, try Silo 2. It's easy to use and for modeling I prefer it to many of the big name programs. Doesn't do rendering so you have to use something else for that.

Always on OSX because most software can handle it and just informs me about a new update.

How on earth is pretty much every HTC model ever made not on this list? I mean just look at this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTC_phones

The indicator for who replied to who is not visible enough as there is no tree type structure to follow and the indicators are pretty dim.
