Yeah it's a cheap move from Apple, plain and simple. You'd think they'd take that into account when designing the device. If it is a case of Qualcomm just not offering a chip that does the job, I wouldn't be surprised if the iPads were silently updated when such a chip comes available.

Those look like two preamp tubes so yes, the effect is mostly going to be bullshit. The thing people don't seem to understand is that tubes don't mean the same thing as vinyl records etc. I've heard plenty of tube hifi amps that just sound great but don't seem to color the sound in any way.

Haptic feedback, TRUE haptic feedback (not that vibrating device shit), would be the kicker that makes me finally buy one. The biggest issue with touchscreen devices right now is that they have no physical feel. With haptic feedback you could feel the keys on the virtual keyboard etc.

OLED will still have the same sample and hold effect LCD/Plasma have because they don't flicker really quickly like CRTs do. Yes, OLEDs will have better image quality, negligible input lag and response time.

I just cut it in half on the side, pull it apart (so the full core usually ends up on one side), cut around the core at the top and rip it off. I find this leaves you with most of the parts you want intact.

Gaming PC? With that crappy GPU? I think not, especially at the absurd price.

What MS ignored is that for desktop displays, getting something with a high res is generally so that you can fit more stuff on screen at once. I went to a single 30" 2560x1600 display because I wanted to get away from the problems multiple monitors can have. With the Metro UI, all that space is dedicated to viewing

These are so USA-centric that I couldn't discern anything but the tabasco bottle.

Based on the comments it sounds a bit like Adobe once again added some nice features but only polished the UI without going into the fundamental problems it has. I'm sure by the time CS6 is released we can read from adobegripes.tumblr.com about all the utterly mad shit their programs do.

I've found tools like this unnecessary since WinXP. The default Win7 installation is good enough and doesn't require much tweaking.

The two Cars movies seem out of place in Pixar's repertoire. They were not technically brilliant and storytelling was rather mediocre, more on par with the drivel Dreamworks generally puts out.

The problem with most toasters seems to be that getting out slices that are smaller than the arbitrary size the manufacturer used is a real pain in the ass. Usually the mechanism just can't lift them high enough.

What bothers me is that both Apple and MS seem to be emphasing "single app full screen" behavior. This works great with a tablet and laptops (small screen and not that much desktop real estate regardless of resolution) but if I have a 2560x1600 30" display in front of me I sure as hell don't want to fill it with a

With Chrome I love that feature. It means if I find a cool addon when I'm at work I can install it on my work computer and have it at home too. If I reinstall an OS I can easily sync my addons instead of trying to remember what they were.

Not to mention by opening the back panel of a MBP you can replace quite a few other parts too.

I normally use a bumper. When I was in the army I used a case for extra protection.

They should start by listening to their customers. There's been a thread asking for the related artists feature for the mobile app for a few years now and have they done anything about it? No. Same goes for many other things.

I'm still on a heavily overclocked Core2Quad and it handles modern games just fine and is fast enough for video encoding, 3D rendering etc tasks. When it finally dies I wouldn't be surprised if I'd want to get an all-in-one iMac or a laptop to replace it.

Seems like this thing is made to contour to someone who has a beer belly.

You can make tons of meals by spending about 30 minutes cooking, most of it just cutting vegetables. I don't see how that is such a huge chore that you'd rather eat prepackaged rubbish over something that tastes so much better.
