Meh. It's nowhere even close to the amount of fuckups Adobe has in every single program it has ever made.

Exactly. I have Chrome and Firefox open at work all the time and have never even bothered looking how much memory they use. It just doesn't matter when every modern computer these days comes with at least 4 GB.

You oversimplified the LED part. Cheaper LED LCD TVs have white edge LEDs whereas the higher end ones have RGB LEDs. Especially the cheap ones are more prone to edge light bleed than CCFL displays. Uniformity can also be worse than on CCFL displays.

I imagine what happens is that bigger pieces of bread simply get stuck in there because they can't fold out of the thing. Kind of like the reverse problem of too small pieces being difficult to get out of most toasters because they don't let you lift them high enough.

So essentially they simply changed a few settings. With the quality of earphones being what it is, this will most likely be pretty inaudible. Especially now that Spotify seems to cut off far more often than it did before hitting the US.

You can get nice gamepad control using the MotionInJoy Xbox 360 mode at least in GTA4. I haven't tried it with other games but in GTA you can switch between the controller and mouse+keyboard however you please - mouse+keys for walking/shooting, gamepad for driving.

What has bothered me in past Windows versions, including 7, is that there is this certain half-bakedness to nearly all features. Like they tried to make the feature work better and easier to use but in the end simply added a glossier interface that doesn't solve the initial problem at all. I don't think I've ever

To start, turn the brightness WAY down from the default value to get better blacks and more accurate colors. It doesn't need to be a tanning device and the words "vivid colours" are not what you should be looking for - accurate colors can seem much more muted but ultimately you get a better picture.

There are no true 240Hz displays. HDMI outputs on most devices can't put out more than 1920x1200 at 60 Hz. For PC monitors that do true 120Hz you need dual link DVI or Displayport for that. Even though HDMI 1.4 could technically do that too, I've yet to see any devices that truly support it.

Exactly. Also in the age of global economy, it's insane that we get these "This is not available in your country" things for many internet services for no good reason. The US folks generally have it much better, not having to wait for a year to see a new series on TV or months for a movie to hit the theaters. Plus

I imagine the processing required would add some lag to the sound which would make it feel less immediate and comfortable to play.

The characters themselves are pretty awful too. Illustrator amateur hour stuff.

Sounds like a terrible idea. Most companies have awful websites with bullshit bingo "mission statements" and whatnot. Usually written by some bored copywriter too.

These girls were probably the only ones nuts enough to take part in a miss Finland contest to begin with. There are plenty of better looking gals in Finland.

Not to mention Monster is a pretty awful company in general, suing everyone with the name Monster in the name and all that.

Live, at least for non-classical genres, is arguably even more inaccurate as its often heard in a club with less than stellar acoustics. Actually the Beats might be just perfect to reproduce that echoing bass turned to 10 played at unnecessarily loud volume for the space.

Being able to quit the program while it's in the loading screen is a stroke of genius. I've often opened some big program by accident and then had to wait for it to load.

You don't really need anything more than ffdshow, Quicktime and maybe Real Alternative if you still find a Realmedia file somewhere on the 'net. You can get the latest builds for MPC-HC and ffdshow from [www.xvidvideo.ru]

Try Splash Lite or Splash Pro. I totally agree with you, nearly all media players look like shit on Windows and have downright archaic user interfaces. Especially VLC.

VLC user interface is crap and IMO the image quality of its own renderers is not as good as what you get with MPC-HC + ffdshow or Splash Pro.
