The concept of Godzilla battling other monsters is just inherently silly and the movie needed to play up the fun factor more. Instead we get a gritty Batman Begins-esque reboot of Godzilla. The creature even has his back turned in the poster like some brooding superhero.

Adverbs seemed like something right up my alley given that I love A Series of Unfortunate Events and I love Handler's type of humour but I found it a chore to get through. I think the sincere parts of the book worked so much better than the parts where Handler was trying his whole tongue in cheek method of

You should check out this Tumblr post though. It's obviously not verifiable facts but it does prove there is something going on behind the scenes.

I've read only a few of her short stories, so I may not be the best person to judge but for me the problem so far is that her world and characters are so rich in detail but there's very little that's imaginative in terms of her plots. She also has a way with crafting beautiful sentences but not much in the way of

New Girl is getting enough ratings to hang around for a renewal but it's a far cry from the days when the show premiered with ratings that were beaten only by the likes of Big Bang Theory and Modern Family.

I agree with you. I also like the fact that in their relationship Boyle has all the girlish concerns ("Does this make me the office slut?") while Gina is more embarrassed about sleeping with someone she considers beneath her.

I really think there's some bad blood between Margulies (who's the executive producer and hence can influence story decisions) and Panjabi. I've heard that Margulies wasn't happy that Kalinda rather than Alicia was getting all the accolades and attention early on in the show's run. Some of this could be those typical

What really set 30 Rock apart right from the start was that it wasn't afraid to talk about race and gender. Liz's date with that black guy, the personality differences between Tracy and Toofer and Liz's conflict with the the new baby voiced female writer

Really? Did Kudrow have problems with any of the Friends writers or is that an assumption on your part? I just assumed that Paulie was one of the assholes everyone has to deal with in television.

People keep saying that but the answers can also be immensely satisfying if they make sense. For instance, the season 2 opening which revealed what was in the hatch was one of the best payoffs on the show.

It's a neat bit for foreshadowing because for the first couple of episodes in season 6, they are confined to that temple.

It's one of those nonsensical bits of plotting that just never made sense., like almost every mystery on the show (The hatch is one of the few mystery payoffs that felt fully satisfying).

What does everyone think about the introduction of guns on this series? While it induced some tension, I felt too often it became an easy tool for the writers to use it for Mexican standoffs and unexpected deaths (like Ethan's or Shannon's for instance).

I always feel Season 6 would have been amazing if it had led to some kind of timeline merge. The bomb goes off and it goes back to the time the plane crashes on the island again. Except this time some of the characters in the past (Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid) know what's up with the place they've crashed in. They have

I love that sequence too. It's a great way to kick off season 3 but it's a really cool moment that had a lot of problems for how The Others were characterised.

Thanks for that info. It's nice to get a non-American perspective.

The final nail in the coffin for the creepiness of The Others was that pre-title sequence in the season 3 opener which basically established them as suburban island dwellers who just dress up in rags for the fun of it, apparently.

The way she was taken out was so disappointing. As it went on the show resorted to a lot of 'shock' deaths in lieu of interesting culminations to someone's storylines or arcs.

That's a very astute observation. I think that's also the reason Sayid and Sawyer are my favourite characters.

God these reviews remind me how much I hated Jack early on. He was one of those typical network television protagonists, essentially a good looking male Mary Sue with daddy issues. He was the blandest character in a sea of interesting characters and it always used to annoy me that he was shown as someone others
