I identify with this too, but in a different sense. I went to a rural all white school, but I still stuck out. I used(and still use) a powered wheelchair, so I was “that kid in a wheelchair” to most people, and I had a similar kind of experience growing up. I do feel that less baggage is associated with disabilities…
