I agree that obscurity doesn't necessarily insure failure. Marvel's Thor isn't particularly well known in the general public- certainly less well known than Hulk or Captain America- and his movie did alright.

And, you know, Nova.

The Winter Soldier storyline involves the Red Skull, so I don't think we'll see Strucker. Modern Hydra probably, as RS's secret terrorist support system, and Zola maybe. Though the comics storyline also involved the Cosmic Cube and in the movie universe it's back in Asgard, so who knows.

And neutralize the two elves? What, did they slip Malekith the Accursed in somewhere?

I loved Magnus Robot Fighter and HARD Corps. But they're not coming back yet. Oh, well.

Huh. I haven't seen anybody mention the Flash (though maybe that's due to my lack of familiarity with the new commenting system). I'd have to say he's up there with at least Wolverine and the Fantastic Four in terms of non-comics readers recognition. He's pretty much his own superhero archetype, but the only live

So are we maybe getting the Sand Snakes a book early? They're the only high profile female characters coming up from the books that need to get cast. I really enjoyed the Dorne politics in the books.

The best part about Rocket Raccoon is that he's the team's weapon specialist and they make a point of him using comically oversized guns. He is amazing.

Wasn't it Punisher? Or did she beat down Wolvie, too?

Ah. Fair enough. I just assumed one would kill the other, not even taking into consideration that Willis wouldn't want to kill JGL, for reasons that are now obvious. That's what I get for posting without coffee.

Doesn't the fact that JGL ages 30 years to become Willis mean that Willis doesn't kill JGL?

How does a blacksmith with metal gloves top a dude who can turn his skin into metal (gold?)?

It looks like an asari, but it can't be one. With that ending, all space-faring life in the galaxy was extinguished. Some subsequent cycle used the archives to destroy the Reapers but the asari, humans, salarians, turians, etc. couldn't have been the ones that did it. Maybe the yahg were just too damn tough for the

But current GoG is pretty heavily reliant on the Annihilation storyline, and I can't see them throwing Rocket Raccoon into a major film. As much as I'd love to see Rocket Raccoon interact with Groot on screen.

So I'd assume they're not doing old school Guardians of the Galaxy, which was kind of zany and had as its premise being far in the future.

It's a lot closer than it looks. Somebody needs to start rounding up crop duster pilots.

Okay, so what culture starts with the thumb of the left hand, counts two fingers, skips the ring finger (so the number 4 is thumb, pointer, middle and pinky of left hand and number 9 would be the same on the right) and then adds the ring finger for number 5 (and 10)? Because I think I need to move there.

So by "...in the first trailer for Epic", did you mean "...but she's not in the first trailer for Epic"?

Why wouldn't Marvel just give the people developing an Ant-Man movie copies of the comics instead of making them go to a neighborhood comic shop and buy up boxes of back issues? Even better, they've probably got the comics digitized and could just give it to them in digital form.

So is this the crappy first New Gawker system or the second one that seems marginally better? By the avatars at the top of the discussion section it looks like the most recent new-new Gawker. I hope the change doesn't bring in the trolls the way it did over there. *crosses fingers*
