I have a warning about befriending Muslims around Ramadan. Last time I did it was with some tenants I had. Late one day, one of them came running to my office in a panic saying there was a leak in his apartment and everything was getting soaked. I raced over there with my giant wrench to turn off the water and found

Thank you, Claire for all that effort an attention to detail. I may never get brave enough to do all the steps, but I know I will benefit from the information you have provided. In each of your articles and the ensuing comments I learn a little something and I’m grateful.

Stonglifts 5X5 is great! The app tells you exactly how much to lift each session, including warmups and which plates to use. It’ll even tell you when to deload based on failures. Best starting weigh-lifting program out there.

I’m in the exotic meat business, gator is a popular meat for us. Most restaurants use the cheaper, tougher back meat for their nuggets. We sell the tail filet, a more tender and versatile cut. Most folks cook it as they would a piece of white fish. Myself, I prefer our alligator/andouille sausage.

Started out at around 100 kg (108 at my peak) last May, got to <80 kg for the first time in my life early January and have stayed at 76-78 since then.

I lost over 225 pounds in 14 months and have maintained my weight loss for 6 years. I’ve told my weight loss story on a TEDx stage and had my loose skin removed on the series premiere of Skin Tight (TLC).

The two absolutely worst doctors I’ve ever had were female. Both were hypocritical and exhibited no empathy for patients. I had such a bad experience with one that I avoided going to the doctor for about 10 years. I lasted about a year with the other (mostly because I usually saw a PA) before I switched to another

I vote for ice cream.

People who brake on the highway.

Lights off when it’s raining. Even if the visibility doesn’t 100% necessitate it, if someone doesn’t abide by the “wipers on, lights on” rule they’re most likely a bad driver.

Alright, I have to nitpick as a track coach and personal trainer, because the ambiguous phrasing used in this article (and the one linked to regarding HIIT workouts) is what has given me numerous headaches when it comes to people failing to get quality HIIT workouts or, more often, injuring themselves:

“For example, int

Peaches come from a can,
They were put there by a man
In a factory downtown
If I had my little way,
I’d eat peaches every day

I’ve honestly never considered not hanging a towel on my oven handle, it’s not something I consider messy. It’s such a normal thing to me, it’s how I was raised.

But you didn’t talk about my grandmother’s fear: will bay leaves kill you if you eat them? She thought yes but Google pretty much says no (and lots of cuisines add ground dried bay leaves to spice mixtures). But just like I’m still sure today that if I swallow a watermelon seed, I’ll grow a watermelon in my tummy, I’m

Was actually going to try corned beef and cabbage (at least the corned beef part). For a 7lb brisket, I would think it would take hours.

Though you don’t owe me anything, I would appreciate that if you do elect to go the CB&C route to at least attempt making your own.

Brisket isn’t typically expensive (you pay for the pound, not the price per), and with a large enough tub you could do a two’fer side by side of a better cut of beef vs. a store bought

Don’t do just one breakfast casserole, do multiple ones. This would probably be best made if you cooked them in the jars. One with sausage, one with ham, one with bacon, and a vegetarian option with peppers and mushrooms.

Breakfast Casserole is interesting because there are a lot of different ingredients involved. Eggs and Bacon cook differently. Would you make the casserole as one big batch or ingredients separate and then mix them together after the sous vide?

My nutcracker looks like the one below and stays in my kitchen drawer all year around because I use it to open stubborn screw caps. How’s that for a lifehack?
