I haven't yet had a story I feel was worth submitting, but after a year at an Atlanta Bread Company (think Panera but the food is actually pretty good) I've collected a few smaller stories.

This is the internet. We love cats here. My roommate's baby Pierre got very sick last night. Vet bills are going to be a big challenge, as all three of us roommates are very low income. I set up a gofundme. Any little bit would help, even just a signal boost.

My friends and I went to a pizza place last Friday. We were a biggish group and agreed to be sat at two tables to make it easier on everyone. We were back in a room slightly to the side, and there was another big group in that area. That other large group was awful. We were just far enough away to only hear

I still can't play my copy. I get a black screen and a flashing load icon in the corner for 10-20 seconds and then it crashes to desktop. Most of the time there's no error message. Maybe twice I got a DirectX error. Once I got some kind of sound like maybe a company logo screen type thing but still just a black

Half the "best of 2014" lists I saw with Transparent on them misgendered the main character. I guess this particular writers just has a higher profile?

I want to like the aftermath scene with Catherine because the actors are so good and a lot of what she says to Mary is so good, but.....

I just started reading this series, and it took me literally half an hour to get through that scene because I kept having to stop and literally laugh outloud and then internally (or externally) squee about how much I love these characters, flawed though they may be.

Speaking of customer service people hating old people - ugh I hate old people. At the restaurant I work at we try to be very accommodating to people's requests. If we have the ingredients in our store for what you want, we will make it for you. But if you're ordering something that's not on the menu we have to

My roommate and I work at the same restaurant. We have one crappy manager (and several good managers). I mean, she's a nice enough person, but she's just utterly useless. I started having to explain to her how to do her job after I had worked there for 2 weeks and she'd been there 6 months. Literally, she had to

The In Death series by JD Robb. They're not without flaws, but I adore the vast majority of her regular and recurring characters, and the mysteries are usually engrossing.

Hey, you know what would be really awesome right about now?

It made pretty much the exact distinction that you are—enough with the guns and leather—what we want is to see female humans behaving like humans.

My irrational customer stories are so mild by comparison - but I'm sorry, it makes no freaking sense to walk up to the counter, see 4 cash registers with only one cashier, and go stand in front of a register that does NOT have the cashier behind it, and then start giving your order to the cashier two registers down.

Sometimes I get really frustrated with my restaurant job. The money doesn't pay my bills, there are zero benefits, most of my coworkers are great but the few that aren't are literally the stupidest people I have ever met. And now that business is down for the summer (college town, so fewer students at the moment)

The dub made a lot of bad dialogue/story/relationship changes, and I prefer the acting of the original Japanese cast over the old English dub. But I admit I liked the music in the old English dub better (most of it anyway). Has anyone heard if they're going to use the original Japanese score? I assume that would be

It probably sucks to get an email congratulating you on your baby if you're, say, struggling with infertility or just had a miscarriage or something. I can understand why some people might have had more of a reaction than confusion and deletion.

Your first thought upon seeing that name might have been, as mine was, "oh, that must just be a name for something that features a tiny splash of vinegar or something."

There really isn't anything here I'd be willing to put in my mouth, especially not having to pay those prices for it.

I've been working at a franchise cafe for a few months now (let's just say it's not Panera Bread but it's close enough I routinely have people think they're in a Panera Bread). In general I don't have too many horror stories yet, I'm lucky. And most of the one's I do have are about really, really dumb coworkers.

I've never watched TBL, but it seems like the kind of show where they would use BMI? If so I don't think the point was that she was definitely unhealthy based on her appearance or weight, but by TBL's own standards she'd gone too far in the other direction for it to be "healthy".
