I was in a NYC taxi twice. Both were some of the worst maintained cars I’ve ever been in. This is coming from someone who spent most of his life in Eastern Europe (Georgia).

Counterpoint: It’s the best thing ever.
this is why i come here... fascinating.
When I go to a web site about cars, I prefer to gather information by “reading”. Jalopnik apparently decided “Hey, people make money from YouTube videos! Maybe we should copy some video links and put them on our site.” If I want to watch videos, I’ll go directly to YouTube.
If you’re going to post second hand stuff,at least add some rust so it looks like yours.
From my experience, the bottoms of those areas (unseen unless you look from underneath the car), gets scratched up a ton because of how low the car sits. The rest of it is fine unless you have a habit of following people too close and get rock chips.
Wow look at that, a jalop who understands free will and common sense.
It’s about $10 worth of cringe or however much scratch-x costs. Unless you get big pebbles in there, it’ll only scuff the clearcoat. In either case, some people love the look and I tell them on FB groups to just plastidip the area in yellow. Or even use some yellow tape.
Someone is always stupid enough.
fair enough. so what you are saying is that its less than $60 worth of cringe.
If someone is stupid enough to buy them, I’m not gonna say no to free money. I can cringe at it, but I’m not the one to tell people what to do to their own cars.
These came on my white scat pack, but were not removed by the dealer. I removed them after I got home only to find grit had gotten in between them and paint and scuffed the clear coat. I polished most of it out, but I cringe when I see people driving around with these. I sold mine for $60 on ebay. They’ve gone for…
Don’t forget Twitter.
This is essentially the business model of all Gawk..., I mean Gizmodo(?) sites. News aggregation. Which in today’s parlance means, check out this thing I saw on Twitter.
Bingo
Mr. Regular videos are getting posted, so obviously it’s a slow day... but we can’t get anyone to post some stuff on Harley’s bike reveals? Seriously? One of the biggest names in motorcycles (that hasn’t been doing great) announces that a whole bunch of entirely new bikes that they look completely foreign compared to…
Do you do any of your own content anymore? Literally all I see on here as of recent is you copying video content from YouTube and adding some text that the user can easily get from watching the video. Whether it’s filling tires with random crap or making them out of random things, you just copy paste videos. How about…
By cracking down on corruption. The fact that these residents have to pay protection to Cartels and cops working for those cartels, isn’t helping anyone. Mazda brought jobs to Mexico by building their cars there, yet that’s not enough right? Mexico can raise minimum wage, thus getting automakers to pay more money to…
How are you connecting this to the automakers or other companies and making it their fault? It’s not like the residents of the town are the people who built the cars or any of the other products they’ve taken. What did those companies do to provoke this? It's not in the article above - do you know more?
