Actually looks like some designs shatter the canopy with explosives. So maybe that’s why the pilot’s hands got cut up. However, I think you’re right about both being deployed simultaneously. Not sure why that wouldn’t be the case. 

Sounds like the canopy got broken from the guy flying through it. I don’t think he pulled on anything, it just malfunctioned. 

They have the same “mini tractors” in all former soviet countries. I forget the name of it but I have ridden on many of them and I remember the first time my grandpa let me drive one. They had 2 speeds, low and high. You can quickly change out the wheels to till the field as well.
