Why can’t these “villain origin stories” take a page from There Will Be Blood and realize that you can make a villain’s formation compelling without making them sympathetic?

Patton Oswalt will not rest until he’s voiced every type of animal on this green earth.

I absolutely abhor this trend of “villains aren’t actually the villains” reworks. Some people are just a-holes, Cruella is one of them, and I’ve got no interest in a movie that’s looking to reframe her as some kind of aspirational glass-ceiling-breaker. I may understand why so many people are more interested in

Terrible buzzword-salad headline does no justice to the review itself

Let’s review what happened here. Kevin McCarthy, the number one Republican in the House, delegated authority to a member of his caucus, John Katko, to negotiate on behalf of Republicans. Katko did well; Nancy Pelosi and Democrats, despite having a majority and public sentiment on their side, caved on nearly every

Well, that makes sense. Remember, McConnell was an outspoken critic of investigation into Benghazi due the past-ness of the events. Very consistent indeed.

I mean, if it truly was a bunch of antifa people, pretending to be Trump supporters, storming the Capital, wouldn’t you think Republicans would want to get to the bottom of that?  Oh wait...

I wish I could get excited about this, but how many times have we been down a road like this before? A big investigation, lots of anticipation that Someone Big was finally going to prison, and then... crickets. Or pardons. Or foot-dragging in the relevant chambers of law and justice. Or no charges. Or weak charges and

Fast 10: Your Seatbelts

“Fast X Furious.” Because it’s either that or “Fast 10: Your Seatbelts,” and I think Fast X Furious is a bit less cheesy-sounding.

They also took dogs raping a girl out, so holding GRRM up as some standard is dubious at best.

Yeah. I trust GRRM a little more than Dumb & Dumber to gauge the right amount of violence against women to be believable for the story (which, historically, is still up for debate). And, to be fair, there is a non-zero number of scenes in the books that make you question whether they need to be there.

That’s the part that really gets me. I’ve been on sets where you have to have the actors do uncomfortable things. The number one rule is always to let them control (or at least communicate to you) how the set is going to work during filming.

First of all, yikes. Second of all, I finally know where I recognized her from while watching Ted Lasso! Thirdly, Ted Lasso is amazing.

I've never seen this show but for some reason I keep hearing about more and more reasons not to start. The fact a director sounds like he could be this clueless about something that could cause serious physical injury to an actor filming scenes for him sounds awful and dreadfully irresponsible for someone nominally in

... I just realized something weirdly sad.

Miss Minutes is Mephisto.

As you can see by my decade-plus-long avatar and handle, I’ve liked the big lug for some time. But my mom is also a big fan of his without seeing a second of him wrestling. He’s a good actor.

Bautista was by far the best part of GotG2. His comedic timing is perfect. I liked him in Blade Runner 2049, too.
