I really wish they would make “Fighters of the Storm”.
I really wish they would make “Fighters of the Storm”.
People’s resilience and ability to not be physically harmed by words is not a reason to perpetuate demeaning and hateful expressions, even if they’ve lost some of that ugliness over time. I get what you’re saying here (they’re only words, right?), but this concept of “people just shouldn’t take it the wrong way” is…
I feel like this show wants to have its cake and eat it too. It wants to be some great metaphor about puberty and sex, but then it also wants to (literally) objectify its very young female cast.
“You watch zombie shows! Violence is bad! Why aren’t you more accepting of the fact that I want to jerk off to teenagers!”
Take a seat, bud.
As someone who has a history both with personal childhood sexual trauma and objectification, and as someone who works with numerous youth that have history and backgrounds with that, it’s a bit much to see a work that seems to be almost glorifying the sexualization of either minors or people who are portrayed as such.…
Yep, this is why I checked out of watching 95% of anime. It’s two parts “I’m too old for this preteen appeal” demographic and one part “cringe”. My ex roommate watches one about a billion year old dragon/demon/ghost in the body of like a 10 year girl, and over ps4 chat whenever he watches it, it always sounds like a…
How dare this person have an opinion which different from your own? Doesn’t he/she understand this is *anime* AND *Japan*?!?!?!
I have a hard time getting interested in anime anymore. I’m not against the art form but it’s hard to find reviews and suggestions of any particular anime as an art form and not through the lens of an anime lover.
That would explain why I feel like a 50-year old man whenever I check lists of popular anime. I always get this sense of “Really?”
You just explained 90% of modern day anime from Japan.
Mecha-Snoke will be zapping Rey to death with his lightning. Kylo will look back and forth between them, shout “NOOOOO!” and then pick him up and walk towards the ventilation shaft of Starkiller Base 2. Right before he throws Mecha-Snoke in, Phasma will walk in, slip on a banana peel, and fall to her death for the…
To be fair, a lot of those threads were JJ’s classic “mystery box” threads and I mean screw that guy
My problem with these kinds of tests is that they intentionally conflate genetic and cultural heritage, which I think ends up promoting artificial boundaries.
It was a mediocre movie with poor writing and weird pacing. The Force powers were not its problem, in fact they were fine.
Hold on there sonnyjim! Please show me a collection of your best comments before you’re allowed to criticize other comments. They’ll have to be top-notch I’m afraid.
“Daly was just a bundle of cliches and tropes...”
It's interesting how in the US sunglasses signify coolness, whereas in the USSR they were apparently seen as symbolic of Americans' untrustworthiness. Like the masks in the earlier posters, except Americans actually wear sunglasses, which makes it all the more brilliant.
Fearful of how to portray Lenin's crotch the artist just went for the blurry approach.
