I still don’t quite get this. If you lay out the facts, any rational person can see he’s a white supremacist... but don’t say it!! What? Lay out the facts but don’t state the rational conclusion? In what world does this make sense???

Jesus Christ man, while plenty of legacy pricks go to Harvard, there are also plenty of regular ass people who just happen to be smart and work really hard in school to get there. Might want to temper your anger a bit
All right, nothing against eSports and yada yada yada, but I mean come on, no they are not athletics. If something like chess was an olympic event too, sure maybe then we could have this conversation. Sure high levels of skill may be involved but it’s just a different class of activity.

all of this is correct. which is why “try to avoid looking directly at the eclipse” is prudent advice, which subsequently got twisted into “avert thine eyes from the orb in the sky lest ye go blind!”
I mean, he’s right. I totally glanced up at the eclipse for like 2 seconds without glasses. Wasn’t any worse than looking at the sun any other day. Looking at the normal sun too long can blind you too! Strange how people apparently think eclipse light is this magical high intensity light that blinds instantly.
YES, thank you for zeroing in on this. Everybody focused on animation glitches but they were hardly the area in which the game disappointed most. The fact that the writing was just so goddamn awful and corny, not at all up to the standards of the first three games, and the overall tone of the story so inconsistent...…
ditto. Turns out the illusion that sports exists in its own bubble and can be separated from reality like a tv sitcom was always just that, an illusion. Sports exists in our society just like anything else and therefore is a reflection on said society, ills and all. To try and willfully ignore that to preserve some…
Astute observation. And her philosophy of objectivism and rationality detached from all emotion or empathy permeates this entire memo.
Yeah, and maybe women just aren’t interested in professions like software engineering.
yeah... you’re acting like that suddenly makes it a-okay. “Girls, for most of you, statistics say your biology will make you better suited for nursing and homemaking, but maybe the top 5-10% or so of you can hack it in the manly field of software engineering. Totally not enforcing a set of stereotypes that you’ll…
They’ve already reached a sufficient critical mass in numbers, so we’re past ignoring them and hoping they go away, unfortunately.
This (former) employee seems like exactly the type to reflexitively roll his eyes at the word “diversity training” and then snooze his way through it learning precisely nothing. Doubt it would help.
Damn this take, damn it to hell. Way too many men (inevitably men) are defending him for merely expressing an “opinion” as if he was giving his view on supply side economics or trying to spark “reasonable discussion” on environmental regulations. He published a ten page manifesto elegantly trying to justify that woman…
His open endorsement of dismantling all diversity programs damn well sounds like he approves
He says he values diversity and inclusion and then fucking goes on to say that he explicitly devalues diversity like 3 pages later
Ugh, this is like the perfect marriage of nihilism and Ayn Rand. “Biology preordains that women shall be subsurvient to man, and we should embrace this reality because reasons.” Sounds like someone without a single female or minority friend
well yeah league minimum salary isn’t like half a million dollars for nothing
the main problem with the “economics only” approach: it assumes a world where being middle class or above erases all the structural effects of racism in society. Because as we all know, middle class minorities never experience any racism, ever
I see no problem with this. Deliberately subverting the trope that, no matter what if you just choose the “right” choices you can make literally any and everyone’s heart bend to your will. An actual meaningful statement!
