@gary_7vn: Those little ones do work, but they take too long (time management is critical in the classroom) and they leave a mess. There's no win, just cost-reduced fail. However, she's required to provide pencils for students who forget them, or whose mechanical pencils have run out of lead, or whatever. The school won't pay for mechanical pencils (hell, they're having enough trouble paying *her*), so she hands out
