“He’s not apologizing. He’s not backing down”
That just shows HUBRIS. *Plenty* of people born in Queens have the mental capacity to admit a mistake.

Well I can’t speak to his cutlery-carrying, but I DO know when he shows up to a battle of wits, he does go in *completely* unarmed.
Thank you. It was cancelled due to lots of people showing up to his event who disagreed with him.
Minus 5 points for the superfluous capitalization of ‘clueless’.
I would claim that’s what I meant, but in truth, I had no idea.... this is perfect
Hey Stacey Dash, I am white and I live in a suburban neighborhood, but sometimes there are some drug deals going down near the community pool. That is right.
If ever there was anyone incapable of judging streetness...
To me it is more a problem that Zoe repeatedly said she wasn’t black. Ok whatever, you do you Zoe. Then she goes on to choose to portray a dark skinned woman who fought for equalities for her blackness. Zoe, a woman who has benefited from being light and having white features and denying being black goes on to portray…
This casting of Zoe as Nina was a horrible choice for so many reasons. I will try to list a few here:
So because the process excludes people based on physical attributes in a racist manner beyond a certain level, it is somehow unfair to examine that process and declare it problematic? It is unfair to unpack it and look at the various levels that it happens and say ‘Here! Here is someplace a difference could have been…
Because actresses just don’t really want to act? You might want to unpack this idea you have that the only one capable or interested in playing an incredibly juicy and powerful role of a historical black woman was one who fits most closely to what what white america normalises as acceptable.
But what you’re really saying is that there are simply no talented actresses with african features. They had to hire “the most talented” who just happened to fit the most normative because they had no alternative. And that doesn’t seem problematic to you. Huh.
It’s not a matter of being too Black to play a white woman and not Black enough to play a Black woman. It’s that she’s not dark enough nor does she have the facial structure to play this one particular Black woman. She’s played Black women before and no one said anything.
Read my comment. Read my comment. She is black. Being black as in blackness as is race and the actual color of your skin and features are two very different things. The issue being addressed here is colorism. I really feel like you don’t get it, my last sentences explained the issue perfectly. Are their people talking…
So you really read past most of the comments addressing this issue. Also shes’s been in Avatar, Gaurdian’s of the Galaxy, Star Trek and plenty of other movies all staring roles. So she’s doing fine. If you haven’t noticed, it’s black people ( mostly women) who see the problem and have seen this happen before. Zoe has…
Zoe and your friend benefit from colorism. Society views them differently from dark-skinned black women with kinky hair, big noses, or large lips. I was also bullied by other black children for being dark-skinned. I’m also seen as dirty, ghetto, and overall unattractive to members of my own race who specifically state…
I don’t know if this is my place as a white person but reading through the comments sections of articles about this I’ve gotten a better understanding of the issue with the movie and Saldana in particular. So I’ll just reiterate what’s been said by others. It’s not that she’s not black enough. It’s that she’s not dark…
For anyone asking why this is a big deal to many people and they wish a darker-skinned actress had been given this part, ask yourself if you think Saldana would be cast in an Audrey Hepburn biopic. All things considered Saldana is a closer match to Hepburn physically but there is no way that would happen so why…
Zoe wanted to continue playing dress up, acting as if this role was similar to Gamora or Neytiri...
