The old-new Charger Red-Eye Hellpuma Freedom Thrust Fattire Brass Monkey Eagle Scout Same Shit Different Day Fender Flaring Horsepower Boner!!
Porsche breaks YOU. In this case, it fractured my thumb...Here’s how. :/
Still have to massage with the passenger side a bit.
I wasn’t expecting this, but Bandit and I were able to get my headlights installed AND FUNCTIONING tonight!! By that, I mean MY HEADLIGHTS GO UP AND DOWN AND UP AND DOWN!!! The panel gaps aren’t all lined up yet but I’m gonna take this win.
Reassembly is going faster than the disassembly. The tl;dr is the fenders and all exterior lights not including the headlights are installed. The rear hatch seal is in, and one door seal is kinda-sorta in. More detail below.
The all-new, all-blue, Monaco Blue 931. It’s like looking at a dream come true. I’m still in awe of the fact that this is MY Porsche.
A better picture that is. But it’s like looking at a brand new old car. A god damn dream come true.
Haven’t done this in a while. So let’s get back to sharing our driving playlists, song by song. Here’s one of my newest additions, by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra).
My car should be going into paint this week. There were some delays but I’m hopeful it turns out well! How’s everyone else doing?
K-Roll tried Everclear (151 proof) tonight and oh god no....I know there’s 190 proof but holy heck. Never again. How’s everyone else doing tonight?
Always wondered what it was like spending a weekend swapping an engine or transmission in the driveway. Got to do that over last three days swapping out an automatic 700r4 for a 4-speed manual in a certain Oppo’s Trans-Am.
I didn’t want to drop the car off in this but oh well... I think I went above and beyond in my removal of parts and trim, and covering wires and connectors to get the best paint job possible. I’m anxious to see how this turns out, but I’ve got some confidence.
!How’re ya gonna spend it? I’m almost done stripping the body. Looking like it’ll be the end of April or start of May to send it in.
My car is getting nekid for paint. Almost done. Smaller and more finicky trims and such need to come off. This probably took a couple hours max.
Which one would you take, and why? I’m gonna have to go with the XKSS. Everything I’ve just seen and read about it briefly, it’s the first classic roadster I’ve discovered on the internet since the BMW 507 that’s had me think “yes, I would max these out on Route 66 without a care.
Piggybacking off my last post, there’s one more color. Albert Blue, offered from 1969-71
The 931 is going in for a full-on respray in the next week or so. Gotta get it ready by removing all the trim I can and mask all the things I don’t want painted. I thought about repainting it the original Dolomite Grey, then I remembered the blue interior, I’ve already said F*** originality. So I’m gonna do it my way.
What in the name of stereotypical bad millennial pandering is this reveal? I want to escape as far away from this reality as possible, but I watched the reveal already. So I’ll show you all instead.
It’s a good blu. Doing more test fitting, I should have this done by the end of next week. EDIT: Not sure how I double-posted. Damn Intern messing with Kinja again.
