A “pop-off” is literally just a person jumping to their feet, usually after a big moment. That’s it.

So I appreciate the Kotaku is questioning these situations, but it doesn’t help your case when immediately following the article there are “recommended” examples of Kotaku openly glorifying these “pop offs”. Like maybe we stop celebrating these?

It’s MORE than ok to offend racists. 

this isnt really a freedom of speech thing. its do we offend racists or people who want more options. offend the racists. its not hard. they are choosing to equate 2 groups that are not equal.

How the fuck is that hard to understand? 

The same thing we saw with Deliverance (though the creators were racists and neo-nazis from the start), the same thing we see with a bunch of games that come out hailing this age.

On a related note, I have a black male character in Rust which was forced upon me by the developers without a choice, which I think is wrong. People use racial slurs against me in game because of it.

Its ok to offend racists. Fuck them. Why would you worry about offending them?

I think the lesser of 2 “evils” here is to let the babies deal with seeing a minority in their videogame.

They are putting in “Would you like to view minorities” toggle, which, yeah, thats pretty offensive or at best INCREDIBLY tone deaf.

Funny how it’s almost—almost—exclusively games about Medieval knights who look like Templar/have the whole ‘Deus Vult meme aesthetic’ going on that seem to bring this particular brand of “we’re just bitching about historical purity,” shithead out of the woodwork.
