Been watching some old Hammer horror. I must say, I prefer Dr. Frankenstein when he's more misunderstood outlaw genius and less murdering rapist. But who wouldn't, eh? I do like the fact the series is only vaguely (if at all) concerned with continuity.

Now that beards are okay again, so many rockers look like young Seger and don't even know it.

I wouldn't call it pretentious, because I don't think it aspires to be more than what it is. It is, in fact, what it is. But not something I need to see again. Haneke is alright, though.

You're right. That movie did it well, by having the characters look right at the camera and tell you what you're supposed to be thinking about.
