Awesome! Now instead of just unfolding a tent on the ground and blowing up an air mattress I just need to build a barn. Too easy.

I think I know why it doesn't work---Karma. Pale, sagging, flavorless and flaccid. Considering the track record of the owner I would say it is a good representation of the brand.

The no sale makes SO much sense.

Normal Buffalo Trace is easy to find compared to Blanton’s.

The trophy hunters have driven up prices, convinced Buffalo Trace to put literally everything on allocation, and made it stupid-hard to find just about any special release at a reasonable price.  So I’m not going to cry if they are paying $1000 for what turns out to be Old Crow or House of Stuart.  Fuck ‘em.

I share your perspective and always consider similar approaches in my own life.

If you can afford to pay off a car in 12 months with only a couple grand down, you can afford to buy it outright. If you can afford to buy it outright, it is beneficial to get the longest finance term you can while still keeping the lowest possible interest rate, because then you can do other things with your money

I’m 39 years old, which means I was 25 in 2008. I don’t ever remember hearing the word twee then or now.

The original Honda Insight was available with a stick.

Yeah, it’s really damned clever because instinct is ‘ooh cheap taco’ but you’re never going to be like ‘yeah one taco is all I need’ when you’re in the drive thru

Smart pushback “You picked the route, Uber, you own this”.

Why are there 12 of them”

The first season was so great. Going to be hard to top that without Armond and those deliciously awful teenagers. And Daddario in a swimsuit. But hopefully it’s good.

Subaru had 4x4 station wagons several years before ‘79. Even with a little bit of lift compared to the FWD versions. IIRC the Leone 4x4 wagons came to the US in about ‘77. Sold in the US as the DL and GL.

I do believe you’re right. Zooming in I see no lugnuts on the driver side and the passenger side appears to be wearing the stock wheels.

“...which is most notable by the use of regular jackstands set under the car so it could use those big Goodyear Tracker A-T tires, the same one used on the Cherokee.”

Considering how 90% of the vehicles on the market nowadays are exactly this—chunky station wagons—AMC gets the gold star for being way ahead of the curve.

As a completely incompetent CEO I’m surprised Spanfeller isn’t trying to hop on the NFT train. After all, it’s a product for idiots who want to get rich off of stuff while also not knowing or understanding what it is they're supposedly used for, and Spanfeller fits that profile.

Paying $15 to see a movie starring Jared Leto does feel like a particularly cruel April Fools prank.
