Can you open messages home in a tab, drag onto menu bar, repeat with groups home, and use those direct shortcuts? You would probably also need to turn off email notifications. Not sure if you can turn off notifications on the actual website.

There's a Firefox app that lets you filter keywords. I think it's called feed sifter or feed filter. I tried it and it worked well.

I try not to correct people, but I have to admit that "walla" makes me cringe.

I really like this. I agree that I wouldn't want to hang most of them in the window, which could very likely get the best signal. I might give this a try.

Hahahaha. I feel like I've had an uncomfortable glimpse of post apocalyptic Lifehacker :-/

That's good to know, thanks!

I do this all the time and I agree that it is awesome. I usually dry tomatoes halfway and then freeze them. If you freeze them right on the cookie sheet and then transfer into a bag once they're frozen, they don't freeze into one big lump. They take up much less space and make great sauce, soup, etc. It's also a great

This tip will be great for my upcoming move. I even keep a roll of velcro around for sticking remotes to the wall. Thanks!

YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!

I use it and like it. But I'm not that familiar with Spotify.

I, too, am stunned. For years now I've been staring at my knife, wondering if there was something wrong with the shape of it or if the problem was my technique, because it never seems to happen to TV chefs. I can't wait to try this. Along with the pot shaking thing, my garlic chopping may be revolutionized!!

Cool!

My big one is doing produce prep all at once vs. every night. If I do it after I get back from the farmer's market, I wash and chop from smelliest to least smelly, and drag the trashcan out for easy disposal of scraps. Then I have to wash one cutting board and one knife. I can still cook whatever I'm in the mood for

If my criticism is based on personal experience, I try to describe what I did and what happened. It's nicer to hear "it sounds like you're dating someone who has one foot out the door. I know what that looks like because I did it for five years" than "you are so stupid. Why would you let somebody treat you like that?"

I like this.

Great tip! I might be willing to own a blender if I only had to store the base.

Yep. They're designed to withstand very high temperatures and even large amounts of pressure.

I like warm weather meal planning. Ever since we got a 'charcoal starter' which is pretty much a metal can with a handle, I stand in the meat aisle and think "Can I cook this on a grill? Do I have to do anything to it beforehand?" And if the answer is yes and no, it goes into the cart, along with a couple bottles of

I'm sort of ashamed to add this to the bevy of great/healthy/encouraging comments, but late afternoon caffeine seems to have more effect for me than anything else.
