I read Deerskin when I was 14 I was very into Robin McKinley and her retelling of fairy tales. That book scarred me mentally. I had to put it down for a couple days after you know what happened... I wasn’t ready but its a great book

YES THAT ONE IS MY FAVORITE. East, by Edith Pattou is by far one of my favorite retellings of it. I like the Tamlin (Gaelic) version as well (adopted recently by Sarah J. Maas, but am less a fan of Beauty and the Beast/Cupid and Psyche. Gots to have those trolls, in my opinion.
